Found these tiny berries in the local supermarket
The Robber Fly is one of my favorite macro subjects. They have so much character. Very interesting to study as well. They actually catch their prey in mid air. This particular robber was only about 3/4 inch long. His meal was exceptionally small. I didn’t know he had until I looked through the lens.

Gulf Fritillary Butterfly, Agraulis Vanillae is feeding from a blooming flower. / The Gulf Fritillary, Agraulis vanillae, a striking, bright orange butterfly of the family Nymphalidae, subfamily Heliconiinae. These were formerly classified in a separate family, the Heliconiidae or longwing butterflies, and like other longwings this species does have long, rather narrow wings in comparison with other butterflies. It is not closely related to the true fritillaries. It is a medium to large butterfly, with a wingspan of from 6 to 9.5 cm. Its underwings are buff, with large silvery spots. It takes its name from the fact that migrating flights of the butterflies are sometimes seen over the Gulf of Mexico. You know the grips in a water bottle… well that’s what this is. I took the aquafina label off, and put some colorful wrapping paper behind it. There was a few bubbles in the water, which looked cool with the texture of the bottle. It looks like a droplet continuously dropping into a puddle to me…haha. Enjoy! I used my 105mm macro lens for this.

This reminds me of gummy candies.. I think it’s the color. I was also craving gummy candies while editing this. So that explains a lot..hehe.. I took this some time in the fall when these berries were still on the tree in my front yard. Enjoy!

If you couldn’t tell I like bubbles and water… I was playing around with fizzy water the other day in a tiny cup and I got this weird effect with the water. The little portion in the corner blurred mysteriously or exploded. I thought it looked cool though. I placed blue metallic paper under the glass and used my sigma 105mm macro lens and flash. Enjoy!

I was experimenting with water and food colouring in my DIY studio at home. I put drops of the dye into the water and then quickly focused before the dye sank to the bottom. I also used thin white plastic with a light behind it to bring up the vivid colours. After viewing this in my digital darkroom I flipped the image just for fun to give it another dimension. It sort of looks like flowers growing up out of the ground.
