Two chickens out for an afternoon stroll in winter, near Kelso, Borders. They were starting out from the farm just behind me. Where were they going? The other side of the road or the end of it? I seem to recall this was my first attempt at selective colouring (but am willing to be corrected by RBers with a good memory (or, who need to get out more)). This is perhaps my most favourite shot because it has caused so many other people to smile and add comments. Thank you all. I hope it continues to bring joy to many more.

WILD AND FREE / / As I said on my “Polar Love” image, this was the best day of our Arctic trip. We were so lucky to spend hours with this mum and cubs as they moved around the ice flows. These cubs were around seven months old and full of joy – although they did not seem all that keen to follow mum this time! / / The sea ice is shrinking at an alarming rate, which has a huge impact for the bears as this is their main hunting ground. More and more bears are being found to have drowned while trying to find the ice, even though they can swim up to sixty miles or so! / / I hope the ice does not completely vanish and that they always have somewhere to hut! Birch fences are part of my youth where I was living,at that time my mother was in chock seeing sheeps or cows in our vegetables garden and we could see hay bundles sleeping on the field.Of course I knew that if I followed the birch fence I would find the first blueberries for the love of my life,my father…a ritual I did for most of my youth. At first I only had a few bleuberries but what a treat I had looking to my father eating the first handful of those tasty wild berries.I was so proud and happy…. :)) / Taken with a D200 Nikon /

This weekend I did something very very silly…. / I took my new camera on a jet ski in a plastic container (i.e not waterproof housing) and got some snaps of Port Phillip Bay. We only nearly fell of the jet ski, hmmm…. repeatedly. I hope it was worth it! Thanks to my Jetski driver and all round relaxing company James

Featured in “All about the light” Early morning, Piddlehinton, Dorset, the prelude to a beautiful May day. The grass was rich with dew and the sunlight shining through the mist took my breath away. I love Leonard Cohen, and I think his song Morning Glory fits this image well. Do you think you can pull it off? / Yes, it might happen. / I’m all ears. / I’m all ears. / Oh the morning glory! Leonard Cohen
