TITLE OF ARTWORK: / SPOOKY OWL ARTWORK CREATED ON: Paper APPROXIMATE SIZE: 8.5”x11” inches. MATERIALS USED: Acrylics, Watercolors , White-Out Pen , Markers. Signed by the artist and completed in January 2007. ABOUT THIS: Up in the trees in a dark winters day. The sun is setting and the cold wind is blowing. It starts to snow and you hear the empty echo of where you are. The snow is creating a heavy fog. You can not see. You stumble around trying to move through the fog and snow but you fall victim to the harsh conditions. You suddenly fall paralyzed on the cold hard ground. In your last moments you hear wings flap and the loud screech of an owl.

I AM NOT AN ARTIST I AM JUST A MAN WHO PAINTS.L.S.LOWRY).... I have been painting as an amateur artist on and off for many years.I have over the years developed a very unusual use of colour and content, which I now know from experience appeal to many people, Including individual collectors and dealers. Newcastle upon Tyne England has been a hotbed of heavy Industry since the beginning of the industrial revolution, most of which has now gone forever. A lot of my paintings are recollections of youthful images of the period, late 1940s and 1950s. They are inspired by local naïve and primitive pitmen artists I am also an admirer of L.S.LOWRY, and the great American artist EDWARD HOPPER .AND GRANMA MOSES among others. I enjoy photographing the foggy autumn mornings. I also dabble some with my family’s genealogy. I find it interesting to see how my forefathers lived. This Photo is a combination of the two interests. I think the times past is important and should be preserved. / This is Mingus Mill located on the North Carolina side of the Great Smoky Mountain N.P.It is one of the many historic structures preserved by the Park Services. It was built in 1886.It is one of two operating grist mills in the GSMNP.These mills were a vital part of the communities of that era.The people of that era could grow there grain but still needed to have it ground so they could have there day to day bread. / I feel it’s important to call peoples attention to structures like this. They may then have a better understanding of those wishing support to help preserve them.So our grandchildren can see the struggles of how we became a nation

The corn crib at the Tipton place is an example of a double pen corn crib, larger than average, and having a driveway through the center. This not only provided a way to conveniently unload the wagon but allowed for extra air to flow through the crib. The hewn log sides were left with open spaces to allow air to circulate through the corn, both allowing it to dry initially and helping it to stay dry…The roofing is known as shackes, which are wooden shingles usually split from leftover parts of logs ….Behind the crib is the edge of a cantalever barn unique to this part of the country……This shot was taken on Cades Cove Loop Road in The Great Smoky Mountain National Park.

The Hardships In Life Are The Walls Of Life's Labyrinth
by Charissa May BorroffI want to be intuitive to find my way in life.
A few months ago I thanked my mum for a book she bought me from the library sale. She wanted me to deface it and make it my own. only recently have I realised how important this book has been to me. It’s The Youngest Miss Ward by Joan Aiken and it’s been written as a Jane Austen type book. This book helped me out of some very dark times as a means to gather my thoughts and feel like me again when I felt totally broken by chronic pain. I ripped out pages and scratched words off . I painted over the pages and wrote on top and drew things. I’m not sure what exactly inspired me to write about the great spirit (I can only imagine I’d seen a western on the telly or it could have been the Tramadols ;) ) But I know that I felt desperatly let down by life and wanted to change things for the better. Shortly after I became a Reiki practitioner , I was startled by these words knowing where I was when I wrote them, because now I know nature is really there to heal and guide. But back then I wouldn’t have believed that would be as possible as I was wishing it to be.

TITLE OF ARTWORK: / ~MIKE THE MOUSE~ ARTWORK CREATED ON: Paper APPROXIMATE SIZE: 8.5”x11” inches. MATERIALS USED: Ink , Spray paint , Watercolors , White-Out Pen , Markers. Signed by the artist and completed in January 2007. ABOUT THIS: Mike is a mouse that I met back in 1995 when I was working in a secret government lab testing growth hormones. In the month of April we were testing a group of hairless mice. All of the other mice died within the first two months of testing but one mouse had something I guess “extra.” I special gene that was compatible with the hormone that we were giving him. Within the first week he had already grown to twice his starter size. Within the first month he was the size of a small dog. At the end of the first six months Mike the mouse didn’t really look like a mouse any more. His arms and legs hands and feet were very long and skinny and he was the size of a truck. Finally the higher up government officials took mike away because the experiment was getting too dangerous for the scientists. By my calculations based on Mike’s previous growth rate – today in 2007 mike should be six times the size of a eight story building. Mike I hope we meet again someday.

folk – information provided by wikipedia:
Folk art describes a wide range of objects that reflect the craft traditions and traditional social values of various social groups. Folk art is generally produced by people who have little or no academic artistic training, nor a desire to emulate "fine art", and use established techniques and styles of a particular region or culture. Along with painting, sculpture, and other decorative art forms, some also consider utilitarian objects such as tools and costume as folk art. Antique folk art is distinguished from traditional art in that while it is collected today based mostly on its artistic merit; it was never intended as a category to be art for art’s sake. Examples include: weathervanes, old store signs and carved figures, itinerant portraits, carousel horses, fire buckets, painted game boards, cast iron doorstops and many other similar lines of highly collectible "whimsical" antiques.RedBubble is a great place to find art, design, photos and writing from over 50,000 talented people.
