  • An explosion of soft centred chocolate, foil wrappers and romance.

  • Getting ‘Zen’ into a painting is often talked about, but rarely achieved. For me this is one of those rare moments in life when it all fell together. Zoe has modelled for me for years and her changing face makes portraiture easy, but the depth of her thoughts made this painting. / The canvas has all those aspects of how I work combined in it: mediums of pastel, acrylic, inks, foils, papers, then the flowing expressions of emotional movement depicted outside of the subject’s still and intimate pose.

Udvar-Hazy Center is located near the Washington Dulles International Airport, and it is the companion facility to the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum on the National Mall and it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The building opened in December, 2003, and provides enough space for the Smithsonian to display the thousands of aviation and space artifacts that cannot be exhibited on the National Mall.
