I apologize to all the nice folks who have featured my work in a Group. Life gets in the way sometimes and time seems to fly by waaay too fast. For all you younger ones, let me assure you that when you get old, it flies past even faster. Don’t think that’s fair, but it’s the way it is..lol. A flock of sheep on a foggy Wisconsin farm
The cold winter mornings of Warwick
Dawn at Lake Kochelsee, Germany. The fog is so strong, the picture becomes abstract. / And the colour photo becomes B/W or duotone. / The photo was taken from the edge of the lake towards the lake, so what you see is the lake (Kochelsee), that is, the water. / The curious “points” or “stains” on the water are ducks! It is so cold, about -15 centigrades (negative grades!) that they don’t move, they are still sleeping. / The water is just beginning to freeze, because the cold temperature just began a few hours ago, during the night. / The rising sun to the left puts a mystic / abstract touch to the scenery. / No photoshop nor any postworking Fuji S6500fd / As is
Taken on Cradle Mountain Tasmania. / Canon 40D / Canon 18-55mm /
The shore of Esthwiate water in the English lake District on a mistry winter afternoon.
Although it was warm, the mist rolled in. The cows were lost in the field and all I heard was distant ‘moo’s’. The old lace curtains blew lazily against my skin. “Winter’s not over” I said out loud. I closed the window and went to the fire to put the kettle on. I make a cup of warm mint and chamomile tea, fresh from the summer past. Still reeking of summer sun and warmth I thought I had forgotten. This winter, long and miserable has again amazed me, by not actually freezing me to death, like I so often accuse it of doing. I sat in the big red chair next to the hearth with my blanket and blew into my tea. The steam hugging my glasses. The farm’s faithful hound Missy comes to warm my feet. “We’ll have to wait it out Miss, This lazy haze won’t let up before lunch” Taken on a warm winters day. We had nothing to do but be there with each other.

I took this photo a while ago, just haven’t uploaded it yet. The photo is slightly post-processed in Photoshop, though it didn’t need much work really. :-)

Cottages in Thomasson Fold, Edgworth, Near Bolton, Lancashire. / Taken on a foggy Christmas Day / Nikon D80 camera and Sigma 24-70 lens / The village is especially rich in the number of ‘Folds’ formed in the 17 century. The title usually indicates the enclosure of a farmstead and associated cottages. Thomasson Fold is a good example. / /
Taken locally on Christmas Eve….yes we had a white one! It was not only cold but foggy too….
