I took this photograph while visiting my family in Switzerland. This is my aunt’s orchard, during one of those long, foggy winters when everything seems perpetually covered in hoarfrost. Treated in photoshop. Unfortunately, I took this before I upgraded to a Canon Rebel, so it’s low res and only available as a card here on RB, though I’ve successfully enlarged it to a 5×7.
Erie Pennsylvania late winter early morning. Olympus OM-3. Sigma 21mm. Ilford HP5 400.
Taken in Amherst County Virginia, during a cold foggy morning in the middle of winter. This is a three exposure HDR.
Taken in a very strong snowstorm. Not a good day for cameras, but a good day for photos. Fuji Acros, Mamiya RZ ProII
I was up with the sparrows fart this morning and managed to get some shots in my favourite local wood. Here is a selection of my favourites

I have the misting fog irrigation system at the Australian National Botanic Gardens to thank for this one … I was in the rainforest gully section when the mist jets came on further up the gully and rolled its fog toward me … the way it played with the late afternoon sunlight made me gasp. No textures added here … though it is a 3-frame HDR to try and capture the stairs which were almost in complete darkness. The scene reminded me of a dream I had … still does. Do you dream in colour? I do.
When I set up for this shot, I had the Eagles song of this title name pop straight into my head. I thought to myself, this is what I will name this shot. I could not hear a thing, there was not even birds chirping, no breeze, it was silence. I think I could easily get addicted to shooting in the early morning! :) Shot on the outskirts of Kilcoy, Queensland, Australia. Shot about 30 minutes after dawn. Canon 50D, 22mm, 16:9 crop. Available, and best viewed LARGE!

Taken on a cold winter’s morning on my way to work. The sun was rising right over the track with a mist just lifting. The guy on the cycle was a stroke as luck. I took four or five shots and didn’t notice him until I checked them over later. He only appeared in the one, which fortunately for me was the sharpest of the batch.
