The Rialto from the ground, same cold foggy Melbourne night. The series: /
A wet and foggy night in the Dandenongs, Victoria. I liked the pitch darkness of the foreground and the street lights illuminating the fog in the distance. One of those ‘painting with light’ kind of shots. I needed a steady hand for this one, as I don’t have a tripod.
We have the train line run at the back of out property and I have wanted to do a night shot of the train. Haven’t got that yet but this morning is foggy so i thought that would be good too. Did some playing in PS and this is what I came up with. Looks more effective than the colour original. Nikon D70s / f/22 / exposure 1/2
A little slice of the history of Edinburgh, the Governor’s House on Calton Hill in Edinburgh. / Looking quite medieval, this is actually an early 19th century structure, the remains of the old Calton Gaol, a prison that was once on the historic hill. / Atmospheric evening fog and illumination came together to make this something special. Available as cards and a variety of prints – if interested in cards, on the preview page, please try with “black backing” as the artist intends.

I was shooting a few tree and fog shots after dark when a stranger walked towards me, pausing when they saw me hunched behind my camera and tripod – I grabbed a quick shot before they passed by. shot at Transfer Beach Park, Ladysmith, BC in the fog, with street lights as the only source of light. the sparkles in the foreground are frost – it was about -4 degrees Celsius that evening… Canon EOS 30D / Tamron SP AF 17-35mm f/2.8-4 Di LD IF / 1s f/8.0 at 35.0mm iso400 Phase One Capture One Pro / Photoshop CS3 Extended
Again, the basic of this image is a fractal. All additional work was done in PSP. Vivid dreams… dreams are wonderful companions telling us ‘things’ about ourselves. They speak their own language, each of us has his or her own symbols. I am a Jungian myself and thus very much into dreamwork.
