The Space Needle is framed by a ferris wheel on a foggy November night.
The sun slowly sets over the Appalachians of the Smoky Mountains bringing the end to the day. Shot was taken from the Clingmans Dome Parking lot in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park !
Taking a few minutes before my “Days End”. The colors are much cooler showing why these are known as the lower Blue Ridge Mountains. The foggy mist is why these particular mountains became known as the Smokys the colors and layers of ridges drew me to this shot. So often in making sunset/sunrise shots photographers shoot one or two shots and move on. This time of day is one of rapidly changing tones. Some of the most dramatic shots can be made after most have left or got there. When the clouds are illuminated by the sun after/before it has pasted the horizon. Those photographers willing to slow down an spend some time will be the ones fully enjoying this time of day when the warm/cool colors met, mingle, and drift apart. As you can see between the 2 shots 2 minutes make a dramatic difference. A pic taken in semi rain till before the night comes on the day on the valey of river Soca in Slovenija. This is a wanderful valey .. a must see if you are somewhere near the Italian Slovenian border. Here was the first world war front line.. on the left mountain were Italians and on the right Austrians. A sad story that surround this incredible emerald river.. You will see this river in next months in the Walt Disney Cronichles of Narnia II movie. A dark night, in the city that never sleeps. Fog was creeping in, in that sneaky way that fog has. It was plucking at the legs of three friends, trying to trip them up. They were just trying to get to the next hot nightspot, where the fog would be man-made and the lights would glow eerily and the music would echo, only you couldn’t hear the echo because it was so loud.

Taken from the parking lot at Clingmans Dome,GSMNP. The mountain was named for Brigadier General Thomas Lanier Clingman, by Arnold Guyot a geographer. Clingman in the 1850’s was the first to accurately measure the height of the mountain. The mountain was called Kuwa’hi (the mulberry place) by the Cherokee. This is where the legendary great bear chief and doctor dwelled. In whose magic bath the wounded bears are restored to health…Settlers first called it Smoky Dome then later was called Mount Buckley before Guyot named it offically
The Flat Earth Society / “The facts are simple,” says Charles K. Johnson, president of the International Flat Earth Research Society. “The earth is flat.” He believes that the main purpose of the space program is to prop up a dying myth—the myth that the earth is a globe. “Nobody knows anything about the true shape of the world,” he contends. The sun and moon, in the Johnson version, are only about 32 miles in diameter. They circle above the earth in the vicinity of the equator, and their apparent rising and setting are tricks of perspective, like railroad tracks that appear to meet in the distance. The moon shines by its own light and is not eclipsed by the earth. Rather, lunar eclipses are caused by an unseen dark body occasionally passing in front of the moon. Johnson’s beliefs are firmly grounded in the Bible.
Jack was created with 3 images using photoshop, many layers were needed, the gradient tool was used for the fog effect and a lot of dodging and burning was also needed for the shadows and highlights… I would like to thank Elandria for her kind permission for the use of the image of the female model in the picture.. And I would like to thank Falln-Stock for the kind permission for the use of the image of the male model in the picture.. Thank you for looking…

The holy city of Safed, perched on a mountain top in the upper Galilee, conjures many images to all lovers of the city. The romantic flavor of narrow cobblestone lanes and ancient synagogues fills one’s lungs with a new spirit. The rusty old houses with there domed roofs clearly identifies the city with the mysterious past of the Holy Land. The history of Safed, in real terms, dates back only five hundred years to the beginning of the 16th century. As if out of nowhere, Jews from near and far settled there – as if answering a divine call – and built the largest Jewish settlement in Palestine. Furthermore, great scholars and mystics opened yeshivos in Safed, being an added incentive to other young men of wisdom to settle there. In one sense, the last half of the 16th century was the pinnacle of Torah grandeur which the city experienced. The author of the Shulchan Aruch (Jewish Code of Laws), Rabbi Joseph Karo, sat at the head of the rabbinical court while compiling his compendium of Jewish Law. At the same time, another saintly man by the name of Rabbi Isaac Luria revealed the mystical side of the Torah, called Kabalah. Together these men and their disciples opened new pathways to the Torah which embedded an invisible holiness in the very rocks of the city. Today everyone who strolls through the city is caught off guard by the hidden spirit of Safed which vibrates full of life after so many generations. Not only newcomers are surprised, but even weathered old comers as well. Homage to Safed.
