Acrylic on canvas, / 29.5×40cm, / 2008 / (Original Available) I had a trip around the scottish highlands last year, and the scenery was amazing. There were so many moments where I wanted to take a photograph, but its not very safe to just stop in the middle of a road when you’re on a motorbike. / Any photograph wouldnt be able to capture the awe inspiring scenes, or the imposing and sometime darkly magical moods that I experienced. / I hope to take another trip and capture a little bit more of the highlands.
‘Far over the Misty Mountains cold, / To dungeons deep and caverns old, / We must away, ere break of day, / To seek our pale enchanted gold. With foes ahead, behind us dread, / Beneath the sky shall be our bed, / Until at last our toil be passed, / Our journey done, our errand sped.’ —The Hobbit, JRR Tolkien Abajo Mountains, which locals call The Blues, Utah, USA
