All proceeds from sales from will go to the / TorontoHumaneSociety You love the roses – so do I. I wish / The sky would rain down roses, as they rain / From off the shaken bush. Why will it not? / Then all the valley would be pink and white / And soft to tread on. They would fall as light / As feathers, smelling sweet; and it would be / Like sleeping and like waking, all at once! Roses by George Eliot

I’ve bought six new IKEA glasses but one of them got broken when I washed it for the first time. Of course, I wouldn’t just throw it away, as well as my daughter couldn’t throw away a Camellia blossom she has found fallen at the ground two days later… / I believe these two imperfect subjects made a perfect combination. What do you think?
Coloured pencils & Gold Art Pen on paper. This Mandala was created over many months; a process of adding form and colour grew from a desire to “put some pieces back together” in my life. .. It became a piece I could return to when the feeling arose, a gradual shift of focus onto the glorious, bright and colourful parts of my life. I call it a clown chakra as that is how I imagine mine might look! Traditionally, chakras relate to the energy centres within a person, whereby the life force flows through. This is really a playful and cheeky approach to depicting an “energy centre” I have visualised. danita None of the materials provided on this web page may be used or reproduced in whole or in part, in any form or by any means, electronic or mechanical, including photocopying, recording or the use of any information storage and retrieval system, downloading, printing, or linking without permission in writing from Danita Clark. Taken at Geranium Cottage in the rural northern are of Sydney Australia, in Spring 2008. I had no idea there was such variety in the Geranium family – from tiny orchid-like flowers, to large rhododendron-like bunches … stunning. New title ideas anybody? Canon 450D / F-stop: 4.5 (-0.3 exposure bias) / Exposure time: 1/25 sec. / ISO-speed: 200 / Focal length: 30mm Cross-processed on photoshop CS3 and I added some noise. Oh yeah, nooise. Basically, I was like, hitting walls all over the place – metaphorically and physically – so my dear Andy set me a challenge to take a self-portrait of myself using one prop (I kinda pushed that a bit..) that reflected how I felt. / I think I like it. / Can I point out that the focus on my face in the negative was deliberate and not a fluke? Quite pleased about that. / A friend thinks this is just TOO out of focus, but I originally thought that just reflected how out of focus I felt. Help me out here – what do you think? Keep your focus on the larger goal, which is to glorify God. The rest will take care of itself. / BehindTheClouds by Brad Paisley When you’re feeling lonely, lost and let down / Seems like those dark skies are following you around / And life’s just one big shade of gray / You wonder if you’ll see the light of day {chorus} Behind the clouds, the sun is shining / Believe me even though you can’t quite make it out / You may not see the silver lining / But there’s a big blue sky waiting just behind the clouds / I’ve heard it said that this too shall pass / Good times or bad times, neither one lasts / But thinking that your luck won’t ever change / Is like thinking it won’t ever stop once it starts to rain {chorus} Behind the clouds, the sun is shining / Believe me even though you can’t quite make it out / You may not see the silver lining / But there’s a big blue sky waiting just behind the clouds / Yeah, there’s a big blue sky waiting just behind the clouds [Thanks to gjcoram@yahoo.com for lyrics]
This picture took a long time to create. The flowers (Chamaescilla corymbosa) are very common in the bush near my home, but they are also very tiny, so it is difficult to create a frame free of “clutter”. I wanted the orange flower to be an out-of-focus background contrast to the main blooms, while having all the stamens sharp. Lots of time lying down with the tripod in amongst the jackjumpers! Velvia scan. “Dance with me!” was featured in the group A Beautiful Blur.
Rain drops on a window, forming a beaded-curtain effect with golden out-of-focus orbs from the patio outside. I had my camera with me while in a cafe with my daughter and my sister, and I spotted the raindrops … then those golden orbs appeared in the viewfinder too. A lucky bonus! / . / I’m delighted that this photo has been featured on RedBubble’s front page - / . / / .

Completed in 2004, age 17 This is a slightly cropped version of the original, due to the limits of my camera. My original signature got cropped out so I had to insert a new one in photoshop; in the original it is not actually located there. Original size: (40” x 30”) The two subjects are posed in similar positions, each having a dark, circular central focus., Both images have lines above and surrounding the centres, which draw attention towards the centres. The vertical composition help strenghten the feeling of height given by the vertical lines. Both subjects are organic, however one, the eye, has straight lines and geometrical shapes, while the rose has curvy lines and organic shapes. In the eye, the centre is literally dark, while in the flower the darkness is created by shadows.
