A view of downtown Duluth, Minnesota from Canal Park. A gull is flying over the water. The cloudy sky is reflected in the cold water of Lake Superior. Canal Park is a tourist attraction in Duluth, MN. Hundreds of people gather on this pier during the shipping months to watch the big ships sail in under the lift bridge.

From left: Cairns tutor Beverley Budgen standing helping out artist participant Susanna Job, Val Pitt, Jean Giarola and Jacque Duffy. Totally enjoyed painting this on-site scene while the artists observed and painted the sea/landscape. / On the Sunday of that weekend we were inundated with people from everywhere as the FFP CWA members held their first open-air markets. They’d double booked the CWA hall and needed to use the kitchen! But we didn’t give over the hall – all our gear was everywhere. What a shamoozle that was! We were obviously a drawcard and spectacle for entertainment to the many people who kept looking over our shoulders at what we were doing.( :-O 10c a look I’d be rich!) / Extra note: These coconut trees actually survived Cyclone Larry! On the Grand River today, this duck kept flying away and coming back. This is one of her flying away.

A red-tailed hawk soars higher to avoid a smaller bird that appeared to be defending it’s nest and young. David vs. goliath…. goliath ran away by soaring out of reach. Captured in rural southern Saskatchewan, with a Canon Rebel XSi using a 55-250mm lens.
