The Anglo-American Lightning Organisation is restoring to flight status a two-seat English Electric Lightning Mk T5, one of the world’s fastest and most capable supersonic interceptor fighters. We have a team of enthusiasts and professionals in the US and the UK working to refurbish and reassemble the former RAF plane XS422 and return it to flight status. The background is Lelystad airport, with the aircraft muesum “The Aviodrome”. / Which has the fame of having one of the few B747’s on public display. Digital artwork.
Stock Photo Credit: / Model / Background Also used various Photoshop brushes and filters to create lightning, rain and light Once again I was delighted to be Bubblemailed by another fantastic poet, who brought my attention to a poem she had wrote that made her think of this piece of art.* Storm by binjy accompanies this artwork beautifully: Storm With clouds boiling fiercely in soft cloaks of grey, / and the light of the gods in the sky- / I bared my soul to the force of the night, / and wished the past year goodbye. A turbulent year, reflected by storm , / with power, excitement and pain. / With coolness refreshing, like breezes in summer. / With tears like the sweet fall of rain. The winds carrying scents of some interesting place, / bring sand grains to prickle the skin of my face. / So has the year gone. The exquisite pleasure, / shining like lightning; a transient treasure, / now lost in the grey cloak’ed clouds.
Broken Dreams. Digital illustration from my original drawing.
Full view please :) Some beautiful words that avalyn was inspired to write for this piece: / ‘A winged ghost / calls to the edge of the world / her heart flung wide / her soul the colour of storm. / Test the air restless spirit / ....... fly into the core of love.’ ..::Stock Photo Credit::.. / Model / Sky / Cliff / Texture / ~various brushes to create lightning, tree and text If you like this, please check out: / / /
The sun goes down on the only remaining English Electric Lightning at the former RAF station at Binbrook, Lincolnshire, UK. Binbrook’s Lightnings provided quick reaction cover for UK airspace during the Cold War, and the Squadrons based there were the last to operate the type. Lightnings were retired from RAF service at the end of the 1980s. RAF Binbrook closed down upon their retirement. A proportion of the sales of this image will go to the Dave Cole Memorial Fund. I was taking photos of lightning, and when this bolt of lightning struck behind the tree, I thought the photo was one to delete… Until I looked at it on my computer! The flash of lightning was bright enough to produce a silhouette of a bat that was flying by, and was quick enough to freeze the motion of the bat. Photo taken in Lutz, Florida

I went down to the crossroads, / Fell down on my knees. / Down to the crossroads, / Fell down on my knees. / Asked the Lord above for mercy, / “Take me, if you please.” Excerpt from Robert Johnson”s Crossroad Blues Started with a basic photo of a road and added the storm with a photo of a cloud I took and build on that photo with brushes and blurs and film grain, added photos of a hat, cats, chickens and a house and blended these with the backgrounds, detailed with brushes and layer effects.

FIRST STORM OF 2009-2010. SHOT WAS TAKEN WITH A NIKON D300.
These photographs were taken over the course of a year, so aptly suitable for a calendar I thought. / The images are a collection of standard high-contast black & white, faux-colour Infrared and high-contrast monochrome infrared, and standard colour with minimal detail.
As the sunrise fades / The beginning of a day / The wind begins to stir the leaves again / As the birds begin to fly / On wings they soar so …
A berserker Viking playing a electric guitar riding a Trex… AWESOME! For Andrew :) I hope you like it!
The photograph is as shot at Grovedale Airport near Geelong. The sky was very dark and menacing with an approaching storm. I decided to hit it hard with the tone-mapping filter for lots of HDR and add a bit of lightning for extra drama. Just having a bit of fun!!! / Nikon D700 with 24-70 mm lens.
