I know its been a while since they happened, but THANK YOU HEAPS AND HEAPS to whoever bought From the Eyes of a Fly and Butterflies Galore. The sales put a huge grin on my face!! I haven’t been surrounding myself in bubbles for a couple of weeks or more (just busy… school holidays, work, sick child) and have missed out on heaps. New people arriving constantly with their amazing artwork and old faves creating new incredible works like there’s no tomorrow!!! I’ll have to stay awhile now while I can, and try and catch up… like that’s possible!!! Come back soon and I’ll have some new pics up!

Check out this amazing photograph that my wife shot! / Well, after I pointed him out to her. This little guy landed on the reeds I was photographing … and didn’t want to leave. / But “SWMBO”: had the macro lens, so I quietly asked her to quickly but slowly move next to me. Thankfully Frank Sinatra decided to stick around for his photograph. But he didn’t stay for his autograph, there was no second shot! Not bad! Whaddiya think?! Frank Sinatra? Old Blue Eyes? Still wandering why we called him that? / Then go in for the LARGE view to see the size of that eye of his. He was watching us watching him!

Just got back from dropping off two artworks for a new juried art show in August. I was told the gallery is expecting over 300 entries for the show, so wish me luck in getting accepted. I’ll find out on Tuesday next week if I pass jury selection. I dropped off the following artworks for the show: Icon IV: The Fruit Bat Icon III: The Rabbit Also TONIGHT is the artist reception for “Art of the Gecko” at the Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (USA). The Academy is currently hosting a live gecko exhibit, and asked area artists to decorate a blank gecko sculpture for display at the museum. I will be showing “Golden Gecko”. In addition, I contacted the museum about showing some of my original artwork (as well as signed and matted archival art prints) in the museum gift shop. They agreed, and so the following artworks are now for sale at the shop: Conjoined: The Geckos This original gecko artwork (and well as the signed art prints) will be on sale through the end of the summer in conjunction with the current gecko exhibition. In addition, the Academy asked me to submit dinosaur and butterfly-themed works as they have ongoing (and popular) dinosaur and live butterfly exhibits at the museum. So I recently made the following, which are now also at the gift shop.
