Great Blue Heron at Dusk. I shot him for awhile and when the sun was setting, I spooked him to catch an in flight shot and this is what I got.
The male blue dasher dragonfly is among my favorites. It isn’t as skittish as some of the other dragonflies and sometimes cooperates beautifully when I chase it around in hopes of taking its photo. Dragonflies are also called mosquito hawks since they put a major dent in the mosquito population, thus contributing a wonderful service to man.
