  • This one is not in the charity series. I took it at Port Melbourne because I thought it served as a great analogy for adventure. It captured the last moment of contact with the known before leaping off into the unknown.

  • As Toyota and Jetstar are debating all around town, i thought i’d stir the pot with my little jump a bit more…

  • Snow geese trio in Missouri.

  • A picture of a seagull in flight against a white sky

  • Fly Free, Sweet Birdy / by Erin CG, 2004 / o / Fly free, sweet birdy, above the trees, / And perch upon the clouds. / Lift your beak and open wide, / Sing long and sweet and loud / o / Wake the skies around you, / Till angels join your call. / Shake your tail and prance around, / And your song will downward fall. / o / We on earth who morn your passing / Will hear the glorious sound. / We will stop and cast our eyes above / And feel your presence all around. / o / For though your humans left behind / Will forever miss your voice, / We’ll hear it if we listen on clear, calm days. / We’ll remember your life, and rejoice. / o / So thank you, birdy, for just being you, / For giving meaning to our days. / We hope you rest and sing in peace, / We love you, now and always.

  • This is an adult pale morph, female Little Eagle that I managed to get very close to.

This artwork was featured in Made In Digital 100% photoshop – NOT A PHOTO. But I did try to make it look as real as possible. This is what the sky looked like as I was driving home last night. It was so beautiful.

  • I had a dream, / A dream so profound / That written words could not express it, / Only tears; / No verbal language could convey it, / Only visions. / This dream spoke in music, it played out in light, / It flickered and danced in emotional tremors / That originated from a source beyond the heart. It manifested within me but not of me / And hovered freely beyond me. / Elusive, I tried to grasp its full meaning, / But could only see it when I closed my eyes, / I could only feel it, when I let it go. / The dream had wings and I felt / The rush of air as it lifted me. We were as we were meant to be – / Released from the heavy chains of our humanity, / Risen above the petty materialism and power struggles / That we once thought defined us. / We had relinquished the ironies of our need for separation from others / That wrestled constantly with our deepest yearning for belonging and unity, / We had softened into our connection with the Earth / And felt her heartbeat as our own, / We had begun to tread more tenderly upon the face of / The one who sustains us, / And remembered again, / To honour the beauty that she held up in her mirror. / Our recognition grew in the knowing that what we saw in our world / Was but a reflection of what we held inside, / Of Who we truly are, / And that the choice between fear and love was our very own, / Not the whim of a distant God. In this moment, we had grown wings, / And through the very lightness of our awakening…. / We had reached beyond our human limitations / And soared free.

  • Portrait of a Red Tail Hawk. / /

  • Hawk visited me yesterday at the lake and was ‘in my face’ with a message….’don’t be afraid to soar!’....and then he soared….right above me…..perhaps that’s part of my recent obsession with birds of all kinds….

  • Early Morning Geese captured this morning about 6:39 AM….one of about 75 photos ( though not all had the geese flying through) of this gorgeous sunrise 08/28/09….some editing was performed on this final image. / /

  • A lone snowy egret flies low over dew covered dunes on the edge of a large salt marsh, looking for a place to settle in for the morning and hunt. This particular salt marsh is one of my favorite places to shoot at dawn on Cape Cod. The creek that runs through it empties out into the Nantucket sound, and contains a large amount of fish, crustaceans and mollusks, making it a great feeding spot for many shorebirds.
