Asteroids was a video arcade game released in 1979 by Atari Inc. It was one of the most popular and influential games of the Golden Age of Arcade Games. The objective of Asteroids was to score as many points as possible by destroying asteroids and flying saucers. The player controlled a ship that could rotate left and right, fire shots straight forward, and thrust forward. The player could also send their ship into hyperspace, causing it to disappear and reappear in a random location on the screen (with the risk of self-destructing or appearing on top of an asteroid). Each stage started with a few asteroids drifting in random directions on the screen. Objects wrapped around the screen edges. As the player shots asteroids, they broke into smaller asteroids which frequently moved faster and were more difficult to hit. Smaller asteroids also scored higher points. Periodically, a flying saucer appeared on one side of the screen and moved across to the other before disappearing again. There was a minimalist soundtrack featuring a memorable deep-toned electronic “heartbeat”, which quickened as the asteroid density was reduced by the player’s fire. Once the screen had been cleared of all asteroids and flying saucers, a new set of large asteroids appeared. The number of asteroids increased each round up to a maximum of twelve. The game was over when the player had lost all remaining lives.

...Child on a ride at the park laughing 22×30 …work was done on Coquille paper…it has a stiple surface and it is my paper of choice usually..Helps me get the soft effect I want.. I like to capture all of my subject in different ways..To be able to see a part of that person and who they are.. I also like to capture movement to bring it to life. I .used watercolor pencils … they allow me to use water where I want it. The child is about four years old. I “Featured ” in / Capturing Emotion / Childhood / 1 on 1 Fine Art of Portraiture and became a featured member / First Things / Good News Group / Dimentions / Works on Paper / Pets and People / Live, Love Dream / Feature Faturnity / This was a commissioned portrait….This was a fun piece and she was so cute and just a little monkey…I didn’t want to give her back to her parents..I was really happy with my composition and is one of my favourit works….I use this image as my signature piece on my cards because I do a lot of commissioned portraits of children and in my personal work as well. The colors I use in my work are also a type of signature because it is part of my style..people recognize my work this way.

Next Eagle Photo Shoot / Join me, Lois Bryan, Big D and Mike Rucci. – We are having another Eagle photo shoot on Sunday, December 6th at the Conowingo Dam, Susquehanna River, Maryland (weather permitting!!) Bubblemail me if interested in joining us! I just wanted to share my best eagle photo from the Conowingo Dam (out of a couple hundred – from one day). I had a great morning with fellow Redbubblers, Lois Bryan, Big D and Mike Rucci. Group shoots are great because I learn a lot of great tips from fellow photographers!!! After seeing the wonderful images from all of the photographers while we were Eagle watching, I know this isn’t the best, but I’m thrilled I got one this good. Maybe I’ll get a bigger lens from Santa!!! :o) Taken 11/21/09 – Conowingo Dam, Susquehanna River, Maryland. Canon Rebel Xsi with 300mm lens. Post editing in Photoshop.
