I liked this image of my little girl as, to me it’s a simple and dreamy capture of childhood where it’s always happy, uncomplicated with bright colours, fluffy white clouds and sparkly light.

Nikon D300/18-200 Lens / The total wild population of the snow leopard is estimated at between 4,000 and 7,500 individuals. In 1972 the International Union for the Conservation of Nature, (IUCN) placed the snow leopard on its Red List of Threatened Species as “Endangered,” the same classification given the panda and the tiger. / There are also 600-700 snow leopards in zoos around the world. There are numerous agencies working to conserve the snow leopard and its threatened mountain ecosystems. These include the Snow Leopard Trust, the Snow Leopard Conservancy and the Snow Leopard Network. These groups and numerous snow leopard range country governments, non-profits and donors from around the world recently worked together at the 10th International Snow Leopard Conference in Beijing. Their focus on research, community programs in snow leopard regions and education programs are aimed at understanding the cat’s needs as well as the needs of the villagers and herder communities impacting snow leopards’ lives and habitat. / Bronx Zoo – November 2008 /
This little finch found a place of safety on the bannister under my front porch during a chilly, rainy day. In fact, if you View Larger, you can detect a few raindrops on her tiny noggin. With her feathers all fluffed up, she looked cute and cozy and a bit plump so I called her Roly Poly. Maybe, like many of us, she’s thinking, “Got to shed some of that extra baggage in the upcoming New Year.” Oh, and one more thing, don’t you just love those tiny talons peeking out from her feathers? Looks like she’s just had a pedicure and she’s showing off her dainty toes!
If I checked your bag, miss? Yeah… 100% squirrelish. ;-) Taken in park just near my apartment. :) / Warsaw Canon 400D / Sigma 70-300

Grumpy blue bird seemed a little flustered at having his portrait taken – maybe it was too early for him.

Watercolour on Schut Aquarel paper, / 300 gr/m2 – Cold-pressed About 30 hours of work I’d say. / The sky must have like 60 layers of colour so to get the smooth feeling; the basket took about 4 hours in total, layer after layer and fixing small details with superthin brush. The rest.. well that’s my secret.. but it is the fun of watercolours, the more you play, the more you learn and to some of the people who think watercolours are boring, well, I challenge them to go look around in RB. A few weeks ago I went to bed but I could not sleep, so I got to thinking of characters I hate. There came Dorothy with her stupid red shoes. I never could stand Dorothy and her friends. A coward lion? A tin man without a heart? / I think it is all Judy Garland’s fault. On the other hand I love Alice and her fantastic adventures.. I think Alice goes much further, I can see her munching magic mushrooms in a picnic talking to a rabbit. Alice was always kind of mean to my eyes, behind the sugar coat… like most kids can be many times. She’s cool. Well, end of the story is this illustration, which turned out the way I wanted as I saw it in my no-sleep. Enjoy.
