Polar Bear mum and cubs relax on an ice floe. / / The sea ice is shrinking at an alarming rate, which has a huge impact for the bears as this is their main hunting ground. Striking artistic representation of how the flow of technology advances is viewed by the artistic mind. The view is horrible and huge.
views: 4957 / favs: 22 My origami calendar A sailboat folded out of a 6×10mm piece of paper rowing along the lifeline in my palm. Wow I didn’t realize my hand had all these lines :P. I didn’t turn this into a black and white this time because I managed to get a cool light on my hand (natural light) to make it more waterlike. The flow of life is parrallel to a journey off the land. It begins smooth, then the waves of adulthood brings high tides which we must overcome, However at the end of the ride, everything is smooth again. Ironically the lifeline in my palm depicts this flow; it begins smooth, then there is a big split and begin to ruffle, but towards the end it comes back together again. This concept was originally generated and uploaded in May 2008, but I bought a tripod later on and re-shot this on September 2, 2009 using the timer on my camera (an Olympus FE-340), and replaced the image alone. Not very different from the one uploaded before except this one is clearer. Coloured Pencil and Ink on 280 gsm Glass Ivory Paper - / (40cm x 60cm) Worked on this one for over a week, through the wee small hours of the mornings. All my art is cathartic, it’s how I balance my life, creating is my reason to go on. When I’m up I create, when I’m down I create, creativity is my balance. I did this as one of my first experiments into coloured pencil art, and found the whole ‘colouring in’ process so very relaxing and calming. I couldn’t help but feel happyness and joy while doing this. I spent every moment I could as a child, laying on my tummy, drawing, colouring. Nothing has changed, I’m still laying on my tummy, drawing, colouring (lol) Views: 703 as at 25-11-2009 / Favourites: 38 as at 25-11-2009 FEATURED in ‘Coloured Pencil Art’ (June 2009) / FEATURED in ‘Fantastic Primitive Art’(June 2009) / FEATURED in ‘First Things’ (June 2009) / FEATURED in ‘Hand Drawn or Painted Art of Happiness & Joy’ (June 2009) / FEATURED in ‘Freedom to Shine’ (June 2009) / FEATURED in ‘Fantastic Primitive Art’ (July 2009) / FEATURED in ‘Colour Me a Rainbow’ (July 2009) / FEATURED in ‘Creative Cards’ (July 2009) / FEATURED In ‘Globes, Spheres and Curves’ (July 2009) / FEATURED in ‘The New Beat Generation’ (August 2009) / FEATURED in ‘Spectacular Spirals’ August, 2009 / FEATURED in ‘Healing through Art’ November, 2009 / FEATURED in ‘Oh so emotional (happy)’ November, 2009 / FEATURED in ‘Healing through art (HTA)’ November, 2009 / FEATURED in ‘Impressionism Cafe’ December 2009 /
What a magical place this is Natural Bridge (also known as Natural Arch), in the World Heritage-listed, Springbrook National Park, Queensland, Australia. Over millions of years, the waters of the mountain fed Cave Creek has worn away at the basalt cave roof, to create this natural wonder. Home to a colony of glow-worms, only visible after sunset. The short hiking walk takes you through some beautiful rainforest, most of the time, you can hear the falling waters of these falls. A must see if you come to the area! Canon 50D, 14mm.
