This dreamy vision of fragrant Frangipani brings back to me the heavenly colors and scents of this alluring tropical flower which I was blessed to enjoy today in my friend’s garden. I would like to dedicate this image to everyone here at RedBubble and to send you all a virtual bouquet of plumeria. This has to be the best photo site available to anyone. Pure Watercolour on Arches 140lb…. I try to paint all my flowers from life, No pre drawing, just wetting the paper, dropping in some pale washes of pigment and see where it takes me.. It allows so much more freedom…..

Pouring rain forced us off the beach at Direction Island and into the shelter of the forest. Our senses were buzzing with the sound of rain and waves, the rich saturated colours and the scent of summer rain. / Direction Island is a much-loved anchorage for yachties, cocos locals and visitors, but no one lives there permanently. A lovely geranium with the most wonderful scent coming from its leaves if touched.. .. lovely in a pot near a path or doorway so you brush against it.. The little pink petals can be candied and used to decorate jellies and sorbets too (havent tried that yet..)
