This calendar contains a collection of images taken from nature in a moment of interest. None of them where planned or thought about for long before they were taken, they are ideas that came to me in an instant as I looked at what was around me. Isn’t it amazing what nature contains and how the human mind can decide in an instant what is attractive or not. Enjoy!

A selection of flower portraits taken in black and white by Canberra based photographer and artist Nathan J Lester. This calendar is a showcase of the collection of Nathan J Lester’s flower portraits taken over the last 14 years. These exquisite images are reminiscent of Mapplethorpe’s flawless flower images of the 80’s but different enough to deserve credibility of their own. Each flower is captured in black and white, intimately drawing the viewer into the image and displaying a visual sensuality that only nature can give. Nathan J Lester has ensured that the texture of each individual flower is evident in the image thus bringing the viewer to a new level of experience, an experience where you feel you could almost touch the flower.
