A view seldom noticed, of the inside of a hydrangea.
A single stem of forget-me-nots against a natural background of the rest of the plant :) I love these flowers but I personally find them hard to focus with. —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—- / Location: Portland, OR / Date: May 31th, 2008 / Light Conditions: Sunny / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—- Camera: Canon Digital Rebel XT (350D) / Lens: EF-S 60mm f/2.8 / Focal Length: 60 mm Shutter Speed: 1/60 sec / Aperture: 2.8 / ISO: 100 / — MY PHOTOGRAPHS ARE COPYRIGHTED AND NOT FOR USE OF STOCK, CANNOT BE REDISTRIBUTE, EDITED, AND/OR COPIED WITHOUT MY PERMISSION.
I found this beautiful patch of lilies outside of the local / prison. It was ironic to see the barbed wire fence just beyond them in the distance. Made me terribly grateful to be standing at that spot-at that moment.. / / / >Featured< in United States / / / Laminated Print / / Framed Print / / /

Two more in the series after this one… Enjoy!!
Our Delphinium petals fell into a puddle outside and I just thought they looked so beautiful and serene sitting there…
This was just a lucky catch. My wife got some tulips for her birthday and I took one out as the sun was setting to try a get a nice shot. I put the vase down & as soon as I turned my back I heard the hummer behind me, I turned back around and had time to get off one shot before she realized she wasn’t interested in tulips. / Captured in Cave Creek, Arizona, with a Canon 20D. OK… I’m coming out of the closet…. I have a confession to make…. I bought a macro lens (Tamron 90mm Macro). As somebody that considers themselves a serious landscape photographer I feel like I have donned an anorak and now I’m a train spotter. I don’t know why, but I have never been overly interested in macro photography before ,but all of a sudden I felt the urge to try my creativity on a much smaller scale. You won’t be seeing any flowers or insects from me, but I will be trying to bring some of the principles of large scale lighting and composition to the macro world. I have to admit though that I feel very clumsy operating in the macro world where depth of field is measured in millimeters when I’m used to sometimes having infinite depth of field. This is the first of a few exercises that I have set myself to try to understand the world of macro.
