Photographic based digital montage, 2007 (1 from series of 6 – redesigned from 2004/5 Japanese Series). Re-worked combining two from the series. Shot the tree, flowers & combined them in P/S with drawn elements & filtered the lot. Approximately 50 Photoshop layers. Generally I tire of my artwork yet still love this series to this day.

Vincent’s Cat Recently I’ve been looking at Vincent Van Gogh’s paintings. I love his irises and wanted to paint some myself. Their complicated forms and brilliant deep blues captivated me. As some of you may know I have a fondness for cats. During my life I have had two exceptional ginger cats ‘Victor’ and ‘Mittens’ who were very dear to me; this is dedicated to their memory. Yaaaaaay the last one in the petals + make-up series. Blue/green. I think this has come to be one of my favorites out of them all, I’ve just been getting better and better at them. This is not at all what I originally wanted. I was going for a Kiss metal rock kinda look. But the colors and patterns made me think of a Peacock so I added flowers instead and then it started looking like a sad bride, hence the “the” part in the title as in she was something to be desired.
