Great Rhododendron….rhododendron maximum…. found around the mountain streams of the Appalachian Mountains. This is also known as Rosebay, Rose Bay, American Rhododendron or Big Rhododendron ….Image taken along River Road..Great Smoky Mountain NP….This is usually in bloom from mid to ending June…The other Rhode in the park “Catawba” is usually a week or two earlier…it bloomes above 3500 ft…........they are times you can get both in a transition area above 3500 ft, but it’s a hit or miss thing….Some of these don’t bloom every year but they are enough in an area of them that thier beauty always shows
I took this photo at the mother in laws house yesterday. These are some of her wood carvings from Papua New Gunea (she calls him George). I thought it looked good taken looking through 1 of her pot plants.
The inspiration for this painting was Thomas Jefferson’s farm journal which referenced farming tasks with the cycles of the “puccoon”. The puccoon as it is known to many older Virginians is the bloodroot, a common wildflower of the rich woodlands. It is often encountered in early spring blooming amid unmelted patches of the last snow with the cupped praying hands of its unfurled leaves protecting its delicate flower. Gouache on paper

“My Favorite Place” is an original oil painting. / 16”x 20” in overall size. Living in Colorado for over 23 years before I found myself in the desert of Nevada…I had an endless supply of beautiful meadows and hidden glens. My camera was my constant companion (as it always is)...I would go out and take pictures when I would see a painting. Thank you for viewing my art.
Gorgeous Spring Native Dog Wood, Blossom I love how these trees splash the early spring forest with new life, and color / 8/1/50

Impressionist, Painterly. / There is nothing like it, that serene walk in your own space and time when you need it. / Digital painting is an emerging art form in which traditional painting techniques such as watercolor, oils, etc. are applied using digital tools by means of a computer, a digitizing tablet and stylus, and software. Digital painting differs from other forms of digital art, particularly computer-generated art, in that it does not involve the computer rendering from a model. The artist uses painting techniques to create the digital painting directly on the computer. / I create the painting, directly on my PC, by using a Wacom tablet, a stylus pen and ArtRage painting software. The Wacom tablet can be compared to a canvas or watercolor paper surface. The stylus pen is my paintbrush.

AS IS / Taken in the woods in Ohio. / This is such a cool plant. It was hard to find the right angle. / This one has just come up, it gets more purple and green stripes under the “hood”. At the end of summer it produces a cluster of red berries.
I had yellow roses climbing over this red trellis of mine and they kept becoming diseased so I pulled them out and replaced with this strong but delicate looking White Eden rose with hints of soft pink….tonight I was out there and the evening sun was peeking through the branches and this one young almost full bloom rose was kissed by the warm evening sunlight.

taken in the garden of our local restaurant – they have really made the garden quite pretty with the odd relic such as this wheel adding pretty rustic decoration. Featured in Statues and Such 7th September ‘09 Lezay, France Canon G10 added a little warmth to the image using a warming filter and had to stretch it to fit the Redbubble card size so all in quite a few changes to this one…thanks to Richard Veal for his help any further critique, help ideas much appreciated :)
