I took this photo in my backyard after the rain today. I think it worked well as the flower seems to jump out from the contrasting blurry green background. Hope you all like it.

Yes I know I can up-size it back to 3072×2304 but that way you loose image quality IMO. Hence only available as card or matted print. I took a photo of an iris bloom that was wet and put it through a channel mixer and went black and white and then I did the selective color with the water drops in photoshop. This image made the Homepage on October 9,2009 with black and purple. Well- started playing- so it’s a game- with some geraniums I have in the house and tried something different using a mirror and water -I know nothing new-but it is for me! And it is all about having fun – well it is for me!!! Taken with a Fuji A600 Finepix digi camera.

My mom, Charmian, is the most AMAZING person – warm, talented, compassionate, energetic, accomplished, enthusiastic, sympathetic, witty, intelligent and loving. She can sail a yacht and play the drums. She cycles in bike races, and thinks nothing of cycling 80km just for fun. She can do woodwork, paint pictures and so many other things that I can’t list them all. And she can garden – her garden is extraordinary, full of lavish beauty and breathtakingly delightful. If I was any good at landscape photography I would have shown you just how good she is, but seeing as I’m not, I thought I would show you just one of the hundreds of stunning roses she grows.
