Water lily from the conservatory gardens at the Calgary zoo…the only place us prairie dwellers can hope to find such vivid, tropical colours. Handheld with my canon 100mm USM macro, while leaning over a railing and dodging excited children. I have no idea what this particular lily is called, so i named it after the slavic water nymph in my favourite opera- Dvorak’s ‘Rusalka’.
