I took this photo in my backyard after the rain today. I think it worked well as the flower seems to jump out from the contrasting blurry green background. Hope you all like it.

The Sea Venture was one of the first ships to arrive in Bermuda. It was thrown accidentally off course by a hurricane and landed on the reefs intact. Its original course was with a fleet from England headed towards / Jamestown, Virginia to aid in the colonization. From being shipwrecked, the crew and passengers of the Sea Venture settled in Bermuda and benefitted from its tropical paradise and set up a small colony. This painting is a Mixed Media piece, combining original digital photography taken in Bermuda by SBC, painting, and drawing. It is intended to capture the natural and surreal beauty of Bermuda. It won an Honorable Mention Award in the Rowayton Art Show in 2006 and First Place in the Darien Art Show in 2007. Thank you for your interest, comments and purchases!

It’s Easter today and my mom stopped over early to give these to me, I took a picture of them to make them last forever. Today is a beautiful sun shiny day, the sky is so blue with puffy white clouds. Well I better get busy and put the Ham in the oven….............Happy Easter !!!!!!

Like all of the work I put on Redbubble. This piece took a long time to finish. I always take my time with important illustrations, especially if I want people to purchase them. The mountains alone took well over 4 hours to complete. I changed them many many times. They could’ve been an illustration by themselves cuz there’s so much detail in them. The idea behind this piece is loosely based on the fact that I never want to give up on my passions in life. Don’t let the fear of failure stop you from pursuing your life’s goals. You don’t want to look back and have regrets. They will haunt you forever….those things you told yourself you always wanted to do will become your ghosts. You cannot run away from your passion/s in life. Further more this illustration is a reminder to me. A personal mission statement built into an illustration. This pretty bridge is along the Monmouthshire and Brecon canal in South Wales UK. I went walking along there one Summers day a few months ago. I was actually looking for ducks to photograph. As I turned a bend in the canal, there before my eyes was this beautiful small stone bridge. It looked like something out of a fairy tale. It was nestled among the trees in the soft sunlight and reflecting its beauty in the water below. I sat on a bench for a while just looking at it and snapping a few pics, forgetting all about the ducks I originally went in search of. I must go back there when it snows so I can see it in all its winter glory. / /

Firstly I took the photo of the rose with a black B/G. To darken it more I cut around it with the lasso tool went to Select-inverse then changed the colour to black in the foreground box and used the paint bucket to drop in the black.I then went to file-blank file and brought up the size I wanted. I changed this to black.I clicked on Rectangular Marquee tool and placed a box around the rose pic. Chose Ctrl C and brought up the blank box and chose Ctrl V. I placed the pic in this box with room down the bottom to add the flood filter.

This image defines me in many ways. My favorite flowers are tulips and my favorite color is red. A flower goes through many stages in it’s life as does a human being. In that process it too, weeps.
