The beauty of cosmos with the bokeh of night-time, just off the famous Nakamise street in Asakusa.
I was walking around Omotesando and Harajuku to kill some time before meeting a friend the other night and found this patch of cosmos flowers. Planted out in the street, behind them were the lights of a shop and a vending machine was providing some light from my side. Just beautiful. Got mesmerised for a good fifteen minutes by these flowers. Nikon D300 / 85mm f/1.4 AF D
Vicious / you hit me with a flower / You do it every hour / oh, baby, you’re so vicious Lou Reed This is for the new T-shirt Revolution Challenge! The image of the guns came from a royalty free photo of the symbol of Finsbury Park Tube Station, which was my tube stop when I lived in London.

Falkland is a village in Fife where Falkland Palace is. The houses, buildings, streets date from the 12 th Century. Falkland has been a royal place since the days of the Stewarts. King James II adopted it as a royal home (it had earlier been a castle of the MacDuff family) and it was used as a hunting lodge in the 12th century. In those days the Forest of Falkland had stags and wild boar and falconry was a popular sport. / All the villages in Scotland display flowers in baskets, barrows etc to earn the Best award for floral displays throughout the summer months. This shows a small passage with original cobbles ( for horses) from the olden days.
Nature’s Street Lighting © Vicki Ferrari For Ants and backyard bugs! / This a dandelion from my back yard, taken in April 2005. It looks like it was suspended from the sky (I think I may have been holding it up so in that case, it was suspended!) A pity that our overhead city lighting could not look as pretty, aye?! :)) / Vicki Purchase Card / Purchase Mounted Print / Purchase Laminated Print / / Tech / Nikon D70 / Nikkor 28-105 / Photoshop (originally uploaded as Dandelion Suspended ©) / (then re uploaded as Nature’s Street Lighting on / 20th September 2009)
This is a bit of a tribute to two of my favorite artists. Both of whom have made it on t-shirts in their own way. If you don’t know Shepard Fairey and Banksy, look them up – you’re in for a treat. If you do – I hope get this image. I’m sure both of them are bemused at their own rise to fame. (or notoriety).... Special mention goes to spikerama and his shoe thrower design.

Four windows, one with flowers, in a side street – Rome, Italy
It’s not a neon sign! They’re real flowers. These orange crysanthemums were part of a display for sale at the florist in the main concourse of Flinders Street Station. These blooms, with roses and gerberas, were in very deep shadow on a winter afternoon about five weeks ago, in late June. I had just lined up a shot with the appropriate settings when without any warning the sun came out from behind a cloud. Simultaneously, a person standing between the sun and the flowers moved away. Immediately, the flowers were bathed in bright light and I decided to fire off a really tight frame anyway, just to see what the result would be. Sometimes capricious light can really give you interesting results when you least expect them. I do not crop, enhance or post-edit my work in any way. Shot with a Pentax K100D, using a Sigma 70-300mm lens. F8, 1/250 sec, ISO 200, focal length 300mm. 115-8404
