I took this photo whilst in Wittunga Botanic Gardenes, South Australia / Phylica Pubescens – Featherhead / Origin: South Africa / This attractive bush is densely covered with hairy leaves and each hair seems to gather the sunlight and make it glow. / / I waited until almost midnight to photgraph this, they only flower at night opening fully around midnight, by morning they are just a limp reminder of their beauty, I forgot to move the pot plant [large so it is rather heavy ,to a light source during the day] so I had to stumble about in the dark, I did have a torch a distance away as we have many spiders to get tangled in to the webs. I had to keep it away incase it interfeered with the photo. Now I have no idea about technical talk but readin the info on properties light source flash and auto ;lens ap.3.00 metering mode patterned;lens focus auto; exp auto, I lightened the pic a tiny bit using Microsoft Photo Editing. The Bird of Paradise is an extraordinary flower, both in its vibrant colors and its unique form. The sun was shining directly on this blossom in an otherwise shady alcove and I liked the natural spotlight effect it created.

This is a print of an original illustration entitled “Letting Go”. It was hand drawn with ink and digitally enhanced with color. I sketched this after seeing oranges at the grocery store. (Sad, I know.) But there was something suddenly sad about all that beautiful orange waiting for a home. Orange is just one of those yummy colors I cant get enough of! It is soothing and vibrant at the very same time. There just isn’t any other color like that!
