Just as the sun managed to peep through the clouds during a thunderstorm illuminating the Canola field for about a minute before it started to rain again. Canon EOS 20D. Greetings watchers and welcome to Boreas Pass, Colorado at 11,481 feet high in altitude! This place is just magical….the wildflower fields go on forever…..and it is total serenity…no one around at all. Silence, among the high peaks. Gorgeous to say the least. You honestly feel like you are in heaven up here…on top of the world….where the air is so utterly fresh and the smell of the wildflowers is hypnotizing! You literally just stand in complete and total awe. Take it all in and breath….and the one thing I personally am proud of about this shot is how I was able to get that lighting! “The Road To Home” Ya know, sometimes I just sit in amazement when I am shooting and just look, gaze, and take it all in…..if photography has honestly taught me anything, it’s to see better, noticing things you normally wouldn’t even see. Case in point, this shot here. Most people probably just drive on by this place never giving it a second glance, but to me, it was something very special…...so special that I spent about 30 minutes here shooting it. Living in Colorado really has it’s benefits this time of the year…as Autumn sets in and the sun goes south, the light becomes so utterly magical, thanks to our elevation. It becomes so warm and saturated in the morning, that everything seems so alive….so gold. Captured on a rural backroad between Boulder and Lyons, the old road leading to cattle pastures I felt made a very worthy subject, especially considering the colors involved, the light, and the overall composition with the tree. *Sunflowers and Colorado Sunsets * Revisiting the Sunflower fields I miss so much, a magical place on the eastern plains of Colorado like no where else, a place one day I hope returns. As the front rage of the Colorado Rocky Mountains dances with the setting sun, this scene seemed something out a paradise lost, the kind of thing you only ever read about. On this day when shooting the sunset here, I shot over 400 shots and came back quite a few other times as well. Well worth it I would say! My First Visit to Leeds Castle / Looking through the blossom. Easter Flowing Beauty at Leeds Castle Kent UK. On this photography trip, I thought “I’ll go out and only take my 50mm prime (no Zoom capability) with me, this meant that for every single shot, to get the framing right I had to move rather than the lense. It was really interesting. Peoeple were watching me much more than normal, I had to duck down, stan tall, kneel in mud and walk back or walk forward, just to get the framing right. It was a good exercise because what you do get with a prime lense is pure light and quality of glass. It’s obvious in the sharp details in the 170 pictures I took on this shoot. I’ll definitely try it again. However, only taking the 50mm prime did hhave it’s limitations as well. I couldn’t get close enough to some subjects to capture the detail that I’d like to have. However, next time I can alway take along my zoom with me. One good things about Leeds Castle, it cost £16.50 to get in, but that enables you to go back as my times as you like within one year. So I’ll definitely be back to capture some more wonderful scenes from here. The place is a choc-box full of delights for any photographer or artist. It’s magical and amazing. / Camera. Spent the weekend along the beautiful Snoma Coast. It rained almost the entire time so those sunsets I was hoping for did not happen. Did get some opportunity for fog shots though. This field was next to a house my daughter was staying in just acrss the road from the ocean.

Captured in rural Boulder County, Colorado….let me just say this was honest to God unbelievable to photograph. I had to handhold these shots because of my bum knee and well, the lightning was going crazy right above me. But I managed to get some dang nice shots off. This being one of them. I am really happy with this one, I debated about a square crop, but in the end I figured why the heck not, nothing ventured, nothing gained, right folks? Rural northern Boulder County, Colorado Honest to God above, this was utterly amazing….I can’t really find the wards to describe the whole scene to you all but I will try my best. I had to handhold this, along with the other shots to come, my knee is totally kaput so using a tripod was pretty much out of the question, however that isn’t the only reason…as we were shooting last evening, the lightning was all over the place, and well there were times when I wanted to grab it and try, but thought better of it lol Tripods make for great Lightning conductors! lol The clouds were just insane, and I mean really crazy, this storm went severe dropping reports of funnel clouds to the north east of us and hail as well. It passed over our heads, but sure made for some utterly incredible atmospheric shots! So you take that, a Sunflower field the size of a small state, the sunset, a country road, and the foothills and mountains as a backdrop, and friends, you have quite a scene you will NEVER forget!
