This is my favorite photo of all! There is a wild red rose by my kitchen door. Late one afternoon, I was clipping tired blooms from the clusters; some clusters were hanging down. As I reached for this one to turn it over, a glimpse of gold flashed in the low sun. I looked again and discovered this tiny little frog napping in the heart of the bloom. I had only the negative and a small digital file from a scan, and it has taken me a month to get it into the appropriate high-resolution format where I can finally offer it for sale! I finally got around to enlarging her, as i have her loaded as a small image for a card, but now she’s available as a print also…one of my favourites :) I hope you like her….she’s hiding in the jungle

Created from a pencil drawing, coloured digitally and adjustments made in Photoshop.

I also experimented with this image in photoshop. I cut, cropped and merged two flowers from two different pictures together. I dusted them lightly with clouds (photoshop brushes) of different colors, basic brushes, special effect brushes and sharpened the image (filter gallery). I also altered the color (filter forge) and detail. Then I added swirls and leaves (more photoshop brushes) and added some style to it. I love the way this came out!!

/ / / original pencil drawing ...stayed up very late drawing “Nature’s Child”... you know when it’s time for a baby to be born, i think it’s very similar with art… the inspiration just comes when it’s ready…and sometimes that means drawing til 3am like i did with this one. ...the drawing took about 3 hours, and the digital colouring took about 5 hours today. ...inspired by some fantastic eyes i’ve seen lately, (drawn by people on RB) and the dear little willy wagtails…they are so cheeky…they aren’t authentic in colour here, because they are always black and white with little markings above the eye…but i have put their essence into the work hopefully. I think this is my favourite so far :) /

I had a vision to turn my colorful bug images into sepia toned black and white images with a touch of color. But didn’t know how, until today….. Bramble Rainbowtree…. she throws her arms skyward reaching to the heavens above… spots, stripes, flowers and streamers are added to convey the celebration and joyfulness in her spontaneous gesture…. ...Little Bramble Rainbowtree began as a little pencil drawing inspired by my beautiful niece Maya, who has the longest hair ever! This so reminds me of her, except that Maya’s hair is much more beautiful and much darker in colour. ...I have coloured Bramble Rainbowtree digitally, I hope you like this special fairy :) ...a great little vintage design for big and little girls, friends, birthdays, gifts, bedroom decor, nursery walls, etc.
