This was just a lucky catch. My wife got some tulips for her birthday and I took one out as the sun was setting to try a get a nice shot. I put the vase down & as soon as I turned my back I heard the hummer behind me, I turned back around and had time to get off one shot before she realized she wasn’t interested in tulips. / Captured in Cave Creek, Arizona, with a Canon 20D. The sunlight through the petals and leaves looked lovely against the backdrop of the snow outside. Our short days make sunshine seem all the more precious, even indoors. I am hoping to see my brother on Christmas and armed once again with my camera I shall seek the intense colors of Kauai. We shall see. fingers crossed. I wanted to feel good so I went through my photos from Kauai and found this one. I am amazed by the Bird of Paradise, always have been.
