I picked this rose out of my garden today (smells amazing by the way!!), decided to play around with lighting and this was the effect I achieved. Anyway, I like this one for a first attempt so I thought I will put this one up for a while to hopefully get some constructive criticism.. Also, I would love to know if this photo is to dark or light, I was trying to re-calibrate my monitor and I think I’ve might of messed it up! I am sure many other artists have experienced the same thing when you have in mind to paint one thing but something totally different emerges – much to your surprise. It was like this with PEACE. I really didn’t know from one step to the next how it would be. However, I did feel like I was being guided through the entire process by spirit so I did not worry. This painting does not need too much explaining, so here are just a few insights: The hummingbirds (delicate creatures representing joy) find the PEACE mandala more attractive then their usual nectar flowers, thus they are taking their nourishment from PEACE. The mandala reflects diversity in oneness. True peace comes from a higher state of consciousness. Specific colours, such as certain blues, purples, gold and silver, were used to assist the viewer in raising their own consciousness and attaining peace. In peace and joy / Maya
