  • This is about the third illustration I’ve ever done and I thought it turned out pretty well. It’s actually the first I’ve ever coloured so feedback is loved!! :P

  • Sold a matted print on RB to someone who saw this at the Dalby Art Show /

  • My apologies for having no originality in flower choice but as you can see, I love my plain old dandelions! Anyway, in this image there are 3 stages of flower from the same plant, the bud, the flower and the post-flower fairy which to me are like 3 generations. I chose the layers and treatment to reflect all 3 generations by being aged yet still bright and not faded. / Have sold 1 x laminated print.

  • This image is the 1st in a series of 3….. My inspiration behind this are all the lovely wedding images that I see; full of hope, happiness and love, but as we all know the divorce rate is very high and unfortunately many of the beautiful and happy couples divorce… It makes me wonder how would these couples feel if they knew that a few years down the road and a couple of children later, their union would end in divorce. These are the emotions I have tried to capture and portray in my series. And I would like to add a huge thank you to my model and best friend who was also my inspiration as she too recently divorced but was still brave enough to get back into her beautiful wedding dress for this shoot.

  • Old bushel basket with summer daisies.

  • Echinacea purpurea (purple coneflower) with a dark twist. This was the first of my Dark Dreams flower series, most of which I have pulled from redbubble. It was also one of my first images here. Obviously it was photoshoped. I get a lot of questions about why there are scratches on it, it was to give it an old aged look. The texture would make it a great canidate for a canvas print… hint hint ;) This is the original: / I believe this is the largest image in my portfolio, and that is because it was taken with my old 35 mm SLR, then scanned in (I have a really good scanner that scans really big) If you are seeing this image in a group for the first time, that is because I just realized it wasn’t in any groups! I must have cleared it out to make room for newer stuff. This peice was my very first one chosen on the Featured Art page and was featured in Ebony and Ivory group. Thank you! —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-— / This piece can be found in my Flora Calendar. / For more products featuring this image, visit Karri’s Zazzle Store

  • Finished this painting today. / I think the painting speaks for itself…...these old things have a history…it shows on every little bit of these objects. The metal, the rust and of course the old wood. I added the flowers as a tribute to all of these. Acrylics on MDF, 40×50 cm, 16’‘x20’‘ / ORIGINAL PAINTING WAS GIVEN TO MY SISTER AS A GIFT FOR ALL HER KINDNESS / . /

  • Following on from The Rose ~ 1, I’ve tried a different process (also different view and using my P&S camera this time!) hopefully giving the more faded appearance. _Sold as a mounted print to an anomymous RB buyer 16 May 09 … thank you!!! _ Landscapes Trees Cards EOD Rusty Flowers Architecture Macro CatchAll DM

  • Like all of the work I put on Redbubble. This piece took a long time to finish. I always take my time with important illustrations, especially if I want people to purchase them. The mountains alone took well over 4 hours to complete. I changed them many many times. They could’ve been an illustration by themselves cuz there’s so much detail in them. The idea behind this piece is loosely based on the fact that I never want to give up on my passions in life. Don’t let the fear of failure stop you from pursuing your life’s goals. You don’t want to look back and have regrets. They will haunt you forever….those things you told yourself you always wanted to do will become your ghosts. You cannot run away from your passion/s in life. Further more this illustration is a reminder to me. A personal mission statement built into an illustration. It is me in the illustration…something I never want to become. Drawn on A3 Copy Paper, Colored in Photoshop CS3 with Wacom Detail: /

  • A new addtion to the Still Life series, “Still Life with Old Dandelion Stencil and Terracotta Pots” pays tribute to the lovely art of stenciling that experienced a resurgence in the 80s then got overexposed and trite…well know in Europe for centuries, in North America itinerant stencillors made a good living going from town to town with their tools…evidence of their beautiful work still remains today and is shown in museums around the world... / I chose to infuse this painting with the flavour of an old garden room, where the plaster has fallen off and the single stencil though greatly worn with age still looks beautiful…the terracotta pots which are so delightful to paint, add to the feeling of age…I have a number of these ancient pots, and though they are still under wraps right now, I know them so well I think I can reproduce them in my sleep...
