The lovely japonese anemone is a border perennial which manages to survive both in my garden (no mean achievement!) and the rigours of the scottish winter. Flowering from august through to the first frosts… hopefully into october if we’re lucky… I took this hasty handheld macro in a brief sunny interval today … a real lucky catch… alongside michaelmas daisy waiting for a lull in the wind … Details: / Compact Nikon E4800 / f3.7 / 1/300 sec / ISO-50 / focal length 6mm / / As is apart from cropping ;))) / / /

An orchid still blooms on my kitchen windowsill with the low november sun (hooray!)streaming through behind. This photo has not been cross-processed properly, apparently. However, I’d never heard of cross-processing until recently. I’ve read that the term started by developing color print or slide film in the wrong chemicals – for example, color negative film in slide chemicals or slide film by the color negative process. This causes wild color and contrast shifts and requires lots of trial and error. for more, see Dana DiPasquale’s forum page. Apparently a group exists for cross-processing experts, as well. / / However, playing with the RGB channels certainly stretched my tendency for more realistic, staid photos! I played with this photo last night using Sue Wickham’s method and the tutorial that Mary Campbell posted. I used curves and RGB channels in Photoshop and Nikon’s Capture NX2.1 software. / / This is the Capture NX2 version, with a bit of a vignette blur from efex. Original: Nikon D200, Nikkor 70-300mm, 145mm, f/5.6, 1/1000sec, -0.3ev., ISO 200, manual exposure, / Converted from 12-bit RAW to jpeg. Manfrotto tripod. / 2025×3037px
