  • At Day’s End As the sun goes down over the front range mountains of Denver, Colorado, the Sunflowers turn, in anticipation of the sun coming back up in the morning. Photographed in a field where all you can see for miles and miles is Sunflowers….billions of Sunflowers. An entire sea of yellow and gold….caught in my lens for a fleeting instant, where the whole world was at peace…. Minolta 5D / Minolta 50mm f1.7 Lens / Singh-Ray CPL / Dynatran 858 Tripod / HDR through Photomatix, final output through Photoshop

  • A precious find on an early morning outing in beautiful Inverie on the remote knoydart penisula on the west coast of the Scottish mainland. It’s a real wilderness area where wild flowers flourish in profusion on the lower slopes of this mountainous area without road access (We got the boat in from Mallaig). Morning dew in the sun transforms these delicate blue flowers which were growing outside a converted church and are possibly omphalodes, planted there rather than the forgetmenots I originally thought they were… ;) Cropped but otherwise untouched, and taken with my fujifilm finepix A500 on macro mode with a 4” tripod. I’m just so amazed and delighted that it’s true to what I had seen… and it’s well worth viewing larger I think too! / :)) / For more pics of this stunnnig area click this link: knoydart / Crespuscular my talented friend (check out his work too) found this so sad ballad/lament from the 70’s to sit alongside as a reminder of how priceless such mornings are…. Morning dew by tim rose/ bonnie dobson link Walk me out in the morning dew my honey / Walk me out in the morning dew today; / Can’t walk you out in the morning dew my honey / Can’t walk you out in the morning dew today! Thought I heard a young girl cry mama, / Thought I heard a young girl cry today- / You didn’t hear no young girl crying mama, / You didn’t hear no young girl cry today! Thought I heard a young man cry mama- / Thought I heard a young man cry today- / You didn’t hear no young man crying mama / You didn’t hear no young man cry today! Now, there’s no more morning dew / Now, there’s no more morning dew- / What they’ve been saying all these years is true / Now, there’s no more morning dew! (warner chappell music) Thanks so much Cresp….. please pass the tissues….... / ;)

  • / “Hibiscus Morning” is part of the Tropics Collection...mornings on the island, the Hibiscus opens early…breakfast on the terrace with the warmth of the sun, feels so luxurious with all the blossoms cascading down, in their multitudinous shades of brilliant colour ... Watercolour on Arches Hot Pressed Paper… Sequestered in their wiry pods, / the hibiscus opened last night after a long silence. / While we mimicked stones in our shared bed, / the big lusty blooms burst into being, / half-human and full as the moon. We practice avoidance this morning; / a marriage of papery faces nods in the sun / ox-blood, pearl and the pink-throated one, / their enviable tongues already discovered by the bees. J. Wallace /

  • *Sunflowers and Colorado Sunsets * Revisiting the Sunflower fields I miss so much, a magical place on the eastern plains of Colorado like no where else, a place one day I hope returns. As the front rage of the Colorado Rocky Mountains dances with the setting sun, this scene seemed something out a paradise lost, the kind of thing you only ever read about. On this day when shooting the sunset here, I shot over 400 shots and came back quite a few other times as well. Well worth it I would say! Hope ya all like it! / —-John Minolta 5D / Minolta 50mm f1.7 lens / Singh-Ray CPL / Marumi ND4 / Dynatran Tripod

  • Acrylic with metallic and glitter overlays on gallery wrap canvas, 40×40cm I should be feeling fantastic, my spirit should be soaring – instead I find myself earthbound and full of pain. Having stupidly broken my toe on Monday (the first broken bone ever), and being unable to take pain meds I just feel like crap. So I paint. This is for my sons girlfriends 18th Birthday and the symbology is clear (well, to me anyway) – but you can add your interpretations please:) Its also based in the song that I played a lot: INXS – Afterglow: “Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow / Heal me from all this sorrow / As I let you go I will find my way when I see your eyes / Now I’m living in your afterglow…” reproduced in part all credit and copyright of these lyrics belong to INXS

  • 10/25/09 ~ Featured in Country Gardens ~ Thank you so much!! 8/15/09 ~ Featured in Mood and Ambience ~ Thank you!!!! Untouched photo of Cosmos along my driveway in the very early morning light. (The blurred blue/gray background is my driveway and part of my green lawn.) I was pleasantly surprised – It looks like I added texture to the photo, but it is the natural grainy appearance due to the low lighting. Taken 8/12/09. Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL XSi / F stop: F/5.0 Exposure: 1/50 sec. Focal length: 100.0 mm / No Flash, Shutter speed (Tv): 5.6, Used Polarizing Lens

  • I lost about 8 years of work due to a accidental click of a delete key in 2004, I stupidly had not backed up the work. Two days ago while clearing out the loft I found the photo of the girl with some others I thought had been lost forever, phew. The shot of the girl was taken in Sailsbury, Wiltshire, UK 2002 at a Civil War Reenactment and the the background is a lovely walk through Ashridge, Bedfordshire UK, which I took yesterday, I have added a few textures to the overall blend. The composite work has been done in photoshop CS4. I hope you like it. Greeting Cards / Framed Print / Girl / Canon D60, 70-200mm at 200mm, f/5.6, 1/250 sec, ISO 400. / No filters used and hand held.
