This dreamy vision of fragrant Frangipani brings back to me the heavenly colors and scents of this alluring tropical flower which I was blessed to enjoy today in my friend’s garden. Scabious is much too ugly a name for this delightful bloom (scabiosa) otherwise know as the pincushion flower. It’s a wonderfully long flowering perennial and older varieties have a gorgeous delicate fragrance. This particular plant is (even) older than me (! ? !) and has been carefully tended by my dad for decades as it came (via a removal van) from the house I was born in. Captured during a recent shower Its lovely scent is a great reminder of summers past. . . :))) Greenery is from a nearby heather and this was taken in the same rain as summer shower so it was well worth getting slightly damp! ;))

Acrylic On Canvas A piece that was inspired about watching Wong Kar Wai’s film In The Mood For Love, set in 60s Hong Kong. A story about forbidden love and in the story, the female and male leads shared some special moments in room 2046 – writing martial novels :D The chinese title of this movie is Hua Yang Nian Hua. The Chinese title, Huayang Nianhua (translated in the subtitles as “Full Bloom” but more accurately meaning “those wonderful varied years”), is more suggestive of period nostalgia and the Shanghai association, pointing to an iridescent, kaleidoscopic age of bygone elegance and diversity. / You can view and purchase my other “Hua Yang Nian Hua” creations from my Zazzle Gallery: / /

When my children were small, they always did and said the most adorable things. Of course, my grandchildren are even cuter. :o) We always went for walks when I visited the little ones and looked at all the wonderment around us. My grandson always thought the butterflies on the flowers were kissing them not eating lunch as his dad and I told him. I have to admit, I like his version best. Created in Apophysis 3D Hack.
