My mom has wanted lilacs in the yard for years and finally got them a couple years ago, each year we watch them bud out and bloom waiting for their fragrance to waft in through the windows. Besides a babies neck I’d have to say lilacs are the best scent this side of heaven!!

I tend to like muted grayish colors, and my treatment of this shot is no exception. I figure in the infinite universe of flower photographs, it’s maybe just a little different than the brightly colored flowers. Not that this picture is vastly different than anything else, but the idea of being different is also reflected in that single white bloom.

Taken at the Lyndoch Lavender Farm in the Barossa Valley. This is situated in a beautiful setting, lots of Lavender, vines and lovely countryside. Spent a great day there with friends and bought some lovely things for Xmas presents. They are opening a shop in Hahndorf in the Adelaide Hills this weekend I think she said for anyone that is interested. They sell some lovely products.

Each spring about this time of year, the wildflowers burst into bloom and the hillsides are covered with riotous colors. Driving by, spotted all these flowers, had to stop and shoot. There were an amazing amount of bumblebees enjoying their summer feast.
