  • This is one of my favorite photos. It was taken in the garden of a plantation outside of Charleston. I was taking photos of the lovely flowers when this huge bee started buzzing around. I followed him from flower to flower and got several wondeful shots, but this is my favorite. If you look closely there is also an ant on the flower. Apparently it was a very popular bud that morning. /

  • Best Viewed Full Size One of the things I like best about this image is the play of shadows cast from the taller flowers onto the foreground black-eyed-susans and tiny butterfly. Image taken August 16, 2008 with the Nikon D40x, using the 70-300mm VR Nikon lens. Shutter at 400, aperture f/9.0 (hand held), exposure -.33, and iso at 200.

  • This ‘lil insect was going round one of the bushes, but was just too fast, I struggled to get their quick enough to take the shot! (Any help on what sort of hovering insect this is would be good!) Cropped, otherwise as taken.
