When I got my Canon PowerShot A640 in the early Summer of 2007 I started taking various shots in the backyard. This image of a purple Iris was one of the first macro shots I had ever taken, and definitely one of my most popular images here on RedBubble. This is a flower I took this past week at my parents garden, but do you see what I see!...This Beauty has the face of the Beast. When I printed this Flower that is a Very Large “Iris” with absolutely no photo editing what so ever. It look’s like the face of a “Lion” from Beauty and the Beast”......Kinda of Puzzled on this image! Just wanted to share this.

Vincent’s Cat Recently I’ve been looking at Vincent Van Gogh’s paintings. I love his irises and wanted to paint some myself. Their complicated forms and brilliant deep blues captivated me. As some of you may know I have a fondness for cats. During my life I have had two exceptional ginger cats ‘Victor’ and ‘Mittens’ who were very dear to me; this is dedicated to their memory. FE Talis formula. I felt a quite prickly intensity creep over me when this appeared. I couldn’t say why, but the name Core Spirit came into my head. It’s a fractal I have had for a few years and I did some more work on it today, but still get the same feeling. It reminds me of an iris.

I took a photo of an iris bloom that was wet and put it through a channel mixer and went black and white and then I did the selective color with the water drops in photoshop. This image made the Homepage on October 9,2009 with black and purple.
