Summer at Mendenhall Glacier, Juneau, AK. / It isn’t perfect framing (I still got part of the path in the corner of the shot), but it’s straight from the camera. (AS IS) / As a fat chick with a cane, I’m sure I looked funny lying on the ground to get this shot and even more ridiculous trying to get up off the ground, but I’ll never see those people again! AND it looks very nice on my wall.
Well Thanks Giving isn’t actually until tomorrow but i woke up to a chilly -7C and a frosty greeting from the world. Hope you enjoy the series. i braved the chill, tossed on the layers and ventured out for some frosty shots taken with a canon xsi lens 17-35 mm

Winter comes suddenly and brings its first frost. / There’s ice on the windows and our blue sky is lost. / It’s early arrival is such a surprise. / We look out the window and see the dull skies. / Soon comes a ray, of lovely white light / with just enough warmth to thaw all the white. / I put my breath to the window and wiped a small bit / And there were my flowers so beautifully lit, / Dripping with droplets and looking just fit. / The short storm had passed but it’s cold chill was felt. / Now the snow on my flowers was starting to melt. / It was a beautiful sight I remember it well, / Just a short, winter spell.
