In Ode, Intimations of Immortality from Reflections of Early Childhood, William Wordswoth wrote: Though nothing can bring back the hour / Of splendor in the grass, of glory in the flower / We will grieve not, but rather find / Strength in what remains behind. I was reminded of those lines when I saw a single blade of grass that had gone to seed and was blooming deep in the woods. The tiny flowers were a sight to behold.

Sometimes a combination of life events makes you wonder if you can pull through and rise above all that life throws at you. Sometime it all seems so dismal and hopeless. But if you take a deep breath and look around you, you will see the small miracles in your every day….the beauty in a bouquet of dried sunflowers almost shaped like a heart – , the winter light dancing on snow….there is always something to rejoice in. Grab onto those moments and soar above the hopelessness and sorrow that is holding you down. And you will find that you are heading towards a better day. Promise.

I was captivated with the beauty of it resting softly on the lichen blanketed lava rock and the contrasts of soft sensual beauty with the rough textures of the hardened magma. Of course I instantly stopped and photographed it. It is one of my favourites and I am happy you enjoy it

Paper Doll the reason for the flowers are …the iris and the columbine flowers are associated in religious painting as the Virgin Mary and the Holy Spirit …everything I put into my work is never random each line is a moment a memory a dream …something within me. I aslo added the poppies under the dolls as they are thought of as the flowers of sleep and death …
