I just couldn’t stop taking photos of tulips in London this spring. The day was warm and sunny and the displays in so many gardens just beautiful.
Magnificent tulips on display at Floriade, Canberra, Australia in September 2007.

I’m going through a lot of old files these days and trying to organize everything… I’m not very good at organizing files, haha. Some wedding lace that grows in my backyard in the summer. Enjoy!
I picked out these roses for my father to give my mother for Valentine’s Day. They’re such a deep red color and the petals are velvety…almost black. I love those type of roses. I used a really low white balance when I shot this to give it a more bluish tone. Enjoy!
These are the same roses from Valentine’s Day with the velvetly petals. I adjusted the white balance on my camera before shooting to give it a bluish tone. It looks like crushed eyeshadow to me…:D Shot with a sigma 105mm macro, indoors with flash. Enjoy!
Some more of these wonderful velvety roses, greatest roses ever I swear. I adjusted the white balances when I shot this to give it a more bluish tone. Taken indoors with flash and with a sigma 105 mm macro lens. Enjoy!
These tulips and pansies are bursting off the canvas, welcoming the arrival of spring! This is an original acrylic painting on canvas.

/ WINNER OF A CHALLENGE IN THE GROUP:Proteas, Leucadendron, Leucospermum, Orothamnus & Serruria / FEATURED IN THE GROUP: Proteas, Leucadendron, Leucospermum, Orothamnus & Serruria The Protea on the left in the front of this capture is the Waratah from Australia and the Protea right to the back (in soft focus) is the King Protea of South Africa. As I have priviously stated Australia can claim the Waratah as their own proteacae. This is why I call this capture Two Worlds / Information on the Waratah: / Waratah (Telopea) is a genus of five species of large shrubs or small trees in the Proteaceae, native to the southeastern parts of Australia (New South Wales and Victoria) and Tasmania. / The generic name Telopea is derived from the Greek ‘telopos’, meaning ‘seen from afar’, and refers to the great distance from which the crimson flowers are discernible. The specific name speciosissima is the superlative of the Latin adjective ‘speciosus’, meaning ‘beautiful’ or ‘handsome’. ‘Waratah’, the Aboriginal name for the species, was adopted by early settlers at Port Jackson. / Camera: Canon 400D / Lens: Canon Macro 100mm
