As opposed to looking at life as a roller coaster of ups and downs, I am finding myself finally in the position of looking at it as a river that ebbs and flows…. And I’m letting go …and floating along with it, wherever it may take me :) It feels good to not be clinging on for dear life, but to be trusting in Mother Nature and the universe..to guide me to where I need to be. / ______ The river flows, its journey a force / that relies on more than just itself, / gaining strength from like sources / as it winds it way through time. / So are we as one, moving ever onward / toward that final place of belonging. / We shall gather, melding into one great sea… / one mind, one heart, one purpose. This river, this strength, / foretold so many years ago / cannot be stopped…. A dam cannot be built to staunch the flow, / for mere men are not in control. / The power is not ours, nor can our minds / fully understand its magnitude or scope. Life is much like this river, / sometimes calm but not always clear, / and sometimes clear but raging and wild. Let us embrace these struggles / in the hope we find a way / to travel these earthly waters well, / through that great sea of tranquil souls… In the depths we shall find our way. ______

weeeheeee I can now add, sold from gallery26! lucky lady, Talia is the new proud owner! rainbow stripes / merge to Rob ‘the guy’ clements / and also “emerge” ( a variation) to Theresa, Rob’s lady and now in 2008 summer flow dots / as well as recent painting (image to come) / from the last exhibition at North Sydney / More sold than I’d ever imagined, so I thought I share what did sell with all and sundry! fish / / (it was a different version, on two canvases, but did I take a photo of it? nope-forgot!...another small yellow landscape also sold which I don’t have a photo of…) / and commissioned paintings sold(for someone on a tight budget!) all three together / yoga star (also a t-shirt) / and earlier this year, dandelion / the irony is, I always think people like light coloured work, because they’re easy to live with-but I love the bright stuff…and everyone who’s bought my art also seems to! update, update! from north sydney-3more to add! the red / the blue / and the brown, which is the same as the blue. There you go! 10 from the north sydney show. How wonderful. It really made my day! ( I heard yesterday!) Life gets better everyday!

“The creative force flows over the terrain of our psyches, looking for the natural hollows, the arroyos, the channels that exist in us. We become its tributaries, its basins. We are its pools, ponds, streams and sanctuaries. The wild creative force flows into whatever beds we have, those we are born with, as well as those we dig with our own hands. We don’t have to fill them, we only have to build them.” from the book,’ Women who run with the wolves’...Clarissa Pinkola Este’s.

For so long i have mistaken the emotion of desire to be the feeling of longing and yearning for something that i do not have, or for something that i find difficult to believe that i can have. This is not so…. “Desire is the delicious awareness of new possibilities, desire is a fresh, free feeling of anticipating wonderful expansion. The feeling of desire is truly the feeling of life flowing through you.” Abraham Hicks /

Australian Artist version of Elle Mcpherson-I have the body! (or 2008 collection>what has sold)

Body of work that is. ;) It is with great pleasure I show you the art that is now in a better place, gone, not to meet their maker, but their founder. The person who will shall the rest of their life-their new admirer. To say it clearly-I have sold some art this year! Rather than tack it into the last journal entry, I’ve decided to make a 2008 sales list. It’ll help me keep track. (mwah ha ha, because it’s wonderfully popular). Yes, it’s great to feel that way sometimes. Often, I go, “that’s nice, achievement made” without really appreciating how awesome that feels. You make art, and if someone else likes it, it is wonderful. I bought an art magazine recently which nominated 50 of the most collectable artists in Australia. I’ve decided I’d like to be on that list. Of course, I’d like to remain anonymous so I can walk down the street, and have an agent…other than that, no clue as to how it will happen, just that I need to keep painting. Anyhoo. I went rollerblading once. It felt so good, I thought I could do this forever. It was like-I’m good at this, I can do it-I’m going fast, not falling over: I could be an olympic racer. Totally normal. Totally human to dream. However dreams require effort. Here are some of the dreams I put into reality, shared with the world and belong in other hands. As of 2008. building a bridge-maroon dots / summer flow.+ / Gallery 26 second opening texture of sound / Fish face / the big O-yeah / clean to Damian / pulses of knowing to Rob / red eye to Rob / butterfly type twp to Teresa / “woodley”: to Rob / ! thank Robs-your a fantastic patron!

Special thanks to Dawne Olson

I asked Dawne if she could tell me if my writing on “Web on Flow” was good or not… I was not waiting for such a long, clever and nice answer ! Thanks again Dawne ! My french and english text: C’est un jour où les gouttes rythment le temps qui s’écoule / Un jour où l’on cesse des les compter, et où tout doit changer / C’est un jour où d’un tour de clef on lui coupe le sifflet / Et qu’un vieux robinet arrête de pleurer pour finir rouillé C’est un jour où tout s’oublie… même l’oubli…. It’s a day where drops are like time flowing away / A day you stop counting them and you make it change / It’s a day you take a wrench and cut the flow / and an old tap stop crying and keep getting rusty… Dawne’s answer Dear Cyril, / I wanted to answer your reply about the poem in bubblemail so that if I misunderstand any of the poem it won’t distract other viewers from their interpretation. / First of all I have to say though, that I don’t think it hurts anything that your translation of the poem to English is not an exact representation of what you wrote in French. I read it in French and I think I get a different “flavor” than what is written in English, but because you choose different words in English than what I would use, it allows me more freedom to interject my own definitions of what I would say or how I would like to understand it. In that respect, your limits with the English language are actually a benefit for the viewer! I was deeply moved by the words and it made me stop for a long time and think about whether or not this wrenching to turn off the dripping was a good thing (for me) or a bad thing. Good poetry does that for you! It makes you look inside and take stock of the affairs of the heart. I don’t feel like I can “correct” your poem for you Cyril, but I can re-write it according to the way I interpreted it and explain why. But I don’t think it needs correction. The other reason I enjoyed it so much is because I am still expanding my French vocabulary and it is SO great to see something written in French where I can reference words I don’t know against the English version… so for that I thank you! Now for my “re-write” : / It is a day where the rhythm of time can be measured by drops flowing away / A day where you stop counting them and resolve to make a change / It is a day where you will take a wrench to stifle the flow / And an old tap will cease its weeping and begin to rust. In my PERSONAL interpretation of the poem, it is like the day a person realizes they have cried long enough about an injury. They have let their days and their years be measured by their tears flowing and they have watched while the year have flown away and they decide to put away this way of living… by counting the time by the pain it has caused and they silence their heart and make a change. They wrestle (or wrench) the grief into silence. The last line of the poem, is for me, what makes it so powerful. Wondering about what happens when the flow is stopped. I wonder if its a good thing or a bad thing. The weeping, dripping has ceased… but water is life and rust is corrosion (symbolically speaking) so possibly by arresting our hearts from experiencing or feeling grief, we are letting them become hard, unfeeling, (rusted) and absent of the ability to give or feel life! / Perhaps this is too philosophical of an interpretation and not what you intended with the writing, but it is what I got out of it! / I hope its helpful? / Also, I am an Enlish major (4 years college studying language, graduated with Bachelor of Science degree. I decided not to teach English when I graduated from college but I do enjoy languages immensely so feel free to write any time about questions or ideas! / Hugs / Dawne Dawne RB page /

It has only been recently that I have turned my hand to portrait renderings. I use a wacom intuos tablet with an apple mac pro desktop with 5 gig of ram and 2 terrabytes of storage. I use a dual monitor setup and I am currently studying creative computing and working designs in college. I have always painted and sketched but it is only recently I have switched to digital. I love using corel painter x and photoshop cs3 as they seem to work seemlessly between each other. All my images are rendered from a blank canvas and are built up slowly. I always try and start with a line drawing and block in value and texture before hitting it with colour. Then i may go over the image again tightening up the line work and re texuring the image etc. I look at artists such as Ryan Church, Dermot Power and Eric Tiemens and try and reconstruct their paintings. I always look at someone whos been successful in his or her profession and try to emulate what they have done.

For 20 years I have drifted to sleep quickly downstream to half wake at 5:15 every morning to magpie or noisy miner’s call. With my wife sleeping beside me, I roll over ripples of thought like a canoe across a lake. I listen to what comes. The skerricks of long gone conversations, the tailings of past passions co-mingle to story before sunrise. I will not remember this mind says, as days distractions loom large, so I dip a finger in the water and write sentences in the air, like a child with a sparkler for later
