  • I love the quirky expressions that some animals can come up with. This guy was sitting on my clothesline one day so I just had to draw him. The original is coloured pencil and ink on board. I carved the background pattern out of lino myself, but credit must be given to Rhonna Farrer for the use of her stamps in the foreground.

  • Wow, this took me ages to finish. I wasn’t sure I would continue with this piece, but I eventually got it to a point where I liked it enough to complete it and add it to my very small T-Shirt gallery. It’s just random monsters, demons, abomination, a mannequin, chopped up toy shark, flaming skulls (come on, falming skulls…yes of course), some random toys, a Elephant head with bat wings and a somewhat of a octopus man head thing with hair coming out of his mouth….interesting and surrealistic. I especially enjoyed drawing the flourishes which is something I’ve wanted to learn how to do for a long time but again never set time aside to do. I’m sure I’ll be using them more in future pieces. Enjoy :) View Progress at: www.nicolasrix.com Details: /

  • Flourish is about to let your talents and all things strong and positive inside you to come out and make of you a reference and inspiration for everybody else. Simply as that. So many people are so talented but hide their potential afraid of intimidating the ones that are supposed to be not that “special”... They do not suspect that they would give the others the”permission” to flourish also! It’s also a message for the people that believe they have nothing to offer: try to leave accommodation, self-pity, self-denial or whatever negative emotion or opinion you have about yourself outside your door. Believe in me, nobody is here for nothing. You are a co-creator and a very important part of the Universe. So, assume this position and start seeking for your light inside.
