Beach seascape watercolor painting poster print by artist Derek McCrea
Everybody’s favorite castle… I took this, HDR’d it and messed around with the tone mapping for ages until I got it just right (well to me its just right). I love the soft feel and the little specular highlights on the roof tiles. Certainly one of my favorite pictures… I hope you all like it.
This is the mono processed version of the previous photo. Its something I’m not sure if I like more, or less than the previous one. Either way, its still a firm fave of mine.
Water spout in the Florida Keys
As you walk onto the beach at Daytona, you will see tire tracks. This beach and town is in love with cars so much, that it’s okay at certain times to take your car and drive on the beach. But when you see the beach and how large it is, then everything comes into focus about this un-ecological idea just blocks away from Daytona 500 speedway.

Taken on my second day in Sarasota, Florida while on holiday. I wanted to try and get some of the reflection of the sunset over the Gulf of Mexico caught in the wet sand and I also wanted a faint trace of movement of water pulling back from the sand, which I did – albeit more subtly than I had planned. The sun disappeared into clouds on the horizon just after this was taken, so no green flash! Canon Eos 5D, 24mm TS-E, 2 seconds at f16 (to keep the detail in the sand), ISO100, 1.2ND and 0.6 hard grad placed on the horizon.
