This is a composite photo taken in Shalimar, FL near the edge of the bay. It was a glorious summer night. I applied the NIK skylight filter to deepen the reds in the picture. I also shot the sun on the same night to the west of the bank. I’ve combined them for a rich summer night shot. / /

This shot was taken from the Destin Harbor – Destin, FL. The sunset cruises were coming in for the evening. This is one of the sunset cruises that I caught coming back into the harbor. During post processing in Photoshop I added a larger than life moon via the Lunar Cell filter. It seemed like it added a mysterious beckoning element to the photo. Salt water from the Gulf of Mexico has seeped farther inland, killing many of the slash pines in this part of the St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge, on Florida’s eastern panhandle gulf coast. This is what our beaches look like in the summer when it is hot.
