SBC combines photography, painting and drawing in this depiction of a surreal and tropical fantasy of Key Biscayne. The Lighthouse and its Goddess keep a light on the beauty and essence of Key Biscayne. Inspiration and influenced by Sandro Botticellis, “Birth of Venus”. Key Biscayne won 3rd Place in the Mixed Media Category at the Darien Art Show, 2006.

Cynthia Lund Torroll drew and sculpted during high school. She began painting with acrylics in her brief stint in college, but went back to drawing shortly after that. Then she stopped drawing altogether – for about 15 years – and at the age of 33.3, she picked up her pencil again and drew Heliotroped. She hasn’t stopped drawing since. Her early works can be distinguished by her use of exaggerated features – primarily the eyes. As she continued, her work morphed into fantastic realism – where it’s pretty much stayed ever since. This calendar showcases some of her very early work when she began drawing again in 1989.
