A shot of some flower stems and buds that reminded me of space and the cosmos. And then of CS Lewis and his Space Trilogy, for some reason. I have yet to read it. But I love the name of that book. Please see my Etsy listing for this image – and purchase a pearlescent metallic print of this mysterious image. This photo is seen in two of my calendars – please take a look at them! / Everyday Mysteries A Bouquet

Poppies from my garden…
Another macro shot from the Sigma 150 f2.8 marco. Dropped the levels seriously after playing with selective colour. Cropped it in a little tighter for effect together with unsharp mask! My photograph with some touches of digital painting applied to accentuate the extended petals & Bud… Common facts: / The genus is widely distributed throughout the north temperate zone. Their habitats are considerably varied, ranging from cold and montane regions to the grassy slopes, meadowlands and riverbanks of Europe, the Middle East and northern Africa, Asia and across North America. Irises are perennial herbs, growing from creeping rhizomes (rhizomatous irises), or, in drier climates, from bulbs (bulbous irises). They have long, erect flowering stems, which may be simple or branched, solid or hollow, and flattened or have a circular cross-section. The rhizomatous species usually have 3–10 basal, sword-shaped leaves growing in dense clumps. The bulbous species have cylindrical, basal leaves. Nikon D60~ 18/55 / My garden-North Eastern Ct.
