Lily reflection
No prizes for guessing where in North East England this one was taken… Fujichrome film, naturally.
ISO 200, F10, Shutter Speed 1/200 Sec, Focal Length 55.0 mm.
Never ending on beginning, / On an ever-spinning reel / Like a snowball down a mountain, / Or a carnival balloon / Like a carousel that’s turning / Running rings around the moon / Like a clock whose hands are sweeping / Past the minutes on its face / And the world is like an apple / Spinning silently in space / Like the circles that you find / In the windmills of your mind!
“Summer Fragrance” Photography & Artwork / by Holly Kempe © A gardenia bud beginning to bloom. “Oh! To be a flower nodding in the sun, / Bending, then upspringing as the breezes run; / Holding up a scent-brimmed cup, / Full of summer’s fragrance to the summer sun.” / ~ Amy Lowell

It’s Winter in Australia, which means the Wattle is beginning to bloom. In my area we’ll soon be surrounded by a sea of bouncing little balls of yellow…... Did you know : / - Wattle is Australia’s official floral emblem, having adorned our Coat Of Arms since 1912. / - there are around 950 different species of Wattle….. which is why I have no clue as to which one this is! / - On 1 September 1910 the Sydney Morning Herald stated: / “To many Australians the wattle stands for home, country, kindred, sunshine and love; every instinct that the heart most deeply enshrines.”........ nice :) [canon 1000D, canon scanner for texture, PS watercolour] WINNER – Wattle challenge – October 2009
