Original Watercolour Blue Iris
When I got my Canon PowerShot A640 in the early Summer of 2007 I started taking various shots in the backyard. This image of a purple Iris was one of the first macro shots I had ever taken, and definitely one of my most popular images here on RedBubble. It was named Iris’ Tongue because it looked to me like it was sticking out it’s “tongue”. / / “Iris’ Tongue II” has been shown as a part of the Flower Power Project Exhibition in Frisco, Texas. / / “Iris’ Tongue II” is available in all print formats offered by RedBubble. / / / / / / / / Check out more of my art from these categories: / Holiday Cards / Abstracts / Sketches / Birds / Seascapes/Landscapes/Sunsets / / Subscribe to art updates / Subscribe to T-shirt updates / Become a fan on FaceBook / Add me as a friend on FaceBook / Follow me on Twitter _____________ /

12×18 pastel on sanded Wallis paper I am getting ready to be a vendor at a little Faerie Festival on Mother’s Day, and I realized I have all kinds of faeries but hardly any of them have wings. I am always drawing faerie portraits. So I thought I would do one of the winged variety. She seems to think her name is Priscilla for some reason…...
THANK YOU all so much for your comments on my photos … I run out of time these days with the kittens .. theres so many and so few to feed them and look after them ….

Delicate Irises. Original Art by Angela F. Watercolour on Watercolour Paper. This is a portion of the whole painting, because I must scan it in four pieces and then patch the pieces together, which I cannot do in this heat because it makes the computer crash. My photograph with some touches of digital painting applied to accentuate the extended petals & Bud… Common facts: / The genus is widely distributed throughout the north temperate zone. Their habitats are considerably varied, ranging from cold and montane regions to the grassy slopes, meadowlands and riverbanks of Europe, the Middle East and northern Africa, Asia and across North America. Irises are perennial herbs, growing from creeping rhizomes (rhizomatous irises), or, in drier climates, from bulbs (bulbous irises). They have long, erect flowering stems, which may be simple or branched, solid or hollow, and flattened or have a circular cross-section. The rhizomatous species usually have 3–10 basal, sword-shaped leaves growing in dense clumps. The bulbous species have cylindrical, basal leaves. Nikon D60~ 18/55 / My garden-North Eastern Ct.
